Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

I gave Jupiter a little of the juice from a tuna FF appetizer at 5pm - he seemed fine after that. So at 5:30pm I gave him about 1/2 teaspoon of Sheba LC pate. Going to wait and see how he does with that.

Thank you Carl for posting the pic.

Thank you everyone for the visits!

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

rest up guys

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

that pic was taken about 30 minutes after we brought him home. I think at that time he was still feeling a little out of it.

I will try to get another pic a little later..... I didnt give him his prozac (anxiety meds) today. I think I will wait until tomorrow morning though.

When I took that pic he was purring sooooo much! He started purring as soon as we brought him in and I started petting him. He was so happy to be home. And I was also so happy that he was home. I am really happy he didnt need to stay there longer. As soon as they brought him out to the waiting area - he saw me - and meowed. I knew he was okay and I knew he was happy to see me.

On the way to the vet today I was holding him wrapped in a blankie and I told him that he was going in for surgery now to get the bump removed. I told him that he was gonna go and then he would feel a little sleepy and shortly after he woke up that I would be there ready to bring him back home. I told him to be strong for me. I told him its okay to be scared but that he didnt need to be because after the bump was removed, I was bringing him home and that I would take good care of him. I knew he knew what I was saying. He is such a sweet baby boy.

Thank you everyone for your donations towards this surgery. I cant ever say thank you enough. Thank you for helping my baby boy Jupe.

I will keep everyone updated these next few days. His next appointment is on Tuesday, July 23rd @ 11am. I am hoping maybe by then that they will have the biopsy results but they said it usually takes about a week. Just gonna keep praying and hoping for good news.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

What a nice leg wrap! Jupiter was very brave. :YMHUG:
Heya Jupe - when I's was just a kitten, I's fell and broke my leg. I had me a nice cast, kinda like your leg wrap. I's got everything I wanted whens I was wearing that. Just a tip. - Zener

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

Awwww - who's a handsome kitty? JUPITER! He looks kinda dazed and confused, but I'm sure he's glad to be home. Wrap doesn't look as big as I thought it would be. I hope it doesn't bother him much and he heals up quickly.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

I'm so glad he's home and happy, Jamie!
I hope both of you will get some really nice rest now.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

5:00pm- gave Jupe the juice from a FF tuna appetizer - he licked up the juice and seemed fine
5:30pm- gave Jupe 1/2 teaspoon of Sheba LC pate - he ate it all and seemed fine
6:30pm- gave Jupe 1 teaspoon of Sheba LC pate - he ate it all and seemed fine
7:00pm- gave Jupe 1 teaspoon of Sheba LC pate - he ate took a few licks of it... at most he ate 1/2teaspoon

going to try a different flavor at 7:30 which is in a few minutes gonna try just giving 1-2 tsp every hour

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

Hooray!! Jupiter is back home and recovering!!

He looks so handsome even after surgery. :) The wrap looks pretty small so hopefully it doesn't bother him much. Here's hoping that the biopsy is good news.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Jupiter is home! Post-Op Pic!!!

7:30pm fed 1 tsp of a FF tilapia appetizer - he gobbled it all up

Okay so how much should I be feeding him? Should I leave food out for free feeding tonight? I forgot to ask the vet this. She only said dont feed til 5pm and only give him a little bit at a time to make sure he doesnt vomit

Re: 7/18 Jupiter AMBG/62 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

I think you can leave out food. he seems to be tolerating it ok. glad he is doing so well

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

I'm not sure about the food question, but he does look awesome. And yes, I think he completely understood what you told him this morning...our kitties, they just know...

Prayers for a quick recovery and perfect biopsy results.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

Aww, sweet Jupiter. I am sure he's so happy to be home. He looks good.
Best of luck with the feeding and pain control. I hope he makes it easy for you and isn't in much pain at all.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

OK it looks like he's eaten 3 tsps since 5:00? That's pretty good, I think. And he is keeping it down which is also good news. How many ounces do you figure that equates to?

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

I have no idea....

8:30pm - fed 1 tsp tilapia appetizer and 1 tsp FF salmon & shrimp LC pate. he ate most of it... all but a few licks

the measuring spoon I am using says its 1 teaspoon/5ml

i would say maybe 1oz of food so far...?

using this converter from ml to oz....http://www.convertunits.com/from/ml/to/oz

looks like he ate about .85 oz.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

he ate 2 more tsp of food... hes still acting hungry.... since he is not vomiting do I still need to be limiting how much he eats at a time?

How fast is he eating? If he is scarfing, maybe make the interval shorter between offerings.

If not scarfing, maybe put down 1 tablespoon at a time.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

If it's been more than 6 hours since the surgery, I think he's fine to eat. I might not plop a can of food down, though. Just let him eat but provide several small meals.

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

So glad that Jupiter is home and eating well after his surgery! (And it's been how long since he had the juice, and with such lovely numbers  )

Hope that he tolerates the bandaging well so he doesn't need a collar. Healing vines to you BOTH (ouch on the stones  )!

Re: 7/18 Jupiter PMBG/48 Post-Op Pic!!! question about feedi

Okay well he has been laying under the couch all day. I think he wants to hide but I dont know if its because hes tired, or because he didnt get prozac today, or if hes in pain.

He hasnt went to the litter box at all today... gonna try to keep an eye on him tonight to make sure he goes.

unfortunately I wasnt able to nap after Dane got home from work like I planned... so I am really tired but I am going to try my best to stay awake to keep an eye on him. worried about him not using the litterbox at all yet today

Hi Jamie,
I'm so happy that Jupe is home and doing well. And you and Dane are doing a wonderful job. Have a good night tonight. We are thinking of you and praying that the biopsy will show that all is well.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

p.s. healing vines for both Jupe and you!
