Cleo has 4 P's in place today. Ate about 1/2 of her first breffis, Evo Turkey/Chicken. Not a favorite, but will keep trying this one. Plus, she seemed very hungry yesterday, and seemed to eat alot, so maybe her body just needs less today. She is still looking and acting great!

While I was in the little pet store yesterday, I was looking at all the cat foods. Many kinds I had never heard of. Is there a formula to figure out the carbs, or is there something (some words) that would tell me if the food is high in phorphorus? They are all made to look so healthy. I actually bought a sample pack of something called ZiwiPeak, and will try it on the civvies, with a tiny bit for Cleo. (Not till her trial is over!) If Cleo loves it, I will investigate further. It says it is "Raw without the thaw" and can be used as a complete meal or topper for other food.

Cleo is looking good. I don't think you can tell from anything on the cans the phosphorus content. I know you can't tell the carb content. That is why Dr. Lisa made those lists. She had to get the information from the cat food manufacturer.

Yes, Ziwipeak is on Dr. Lisa's list. Canned is good for carbs, marginal for phosphorus. The dehydrated is 9% or 10% carb and high for phosphorus.

Check out my shopping list.... It has all the foods on dr. lisa's list that are 8% or less and it has the phosphorus number so you can see if it's way high.

Where the heck does phosphorus come from?

Cleo had a good dinner appy, resting on catio now. I see she had a soft poopy. I wonder if that could have been from eating so much of the Paw Lickin Chicken. She really chowed down on that yesterday PM. I added a little of the forti flora to her CC at dinner. Not acting any different.

A lot of the higher phosphorus foods are the fishy flavors. Grind up those bones as part of the cat food, and you have more phosphorus.
