Re: 7/17 Checkers amps 358 +2/245 +3/162

Ate, drank, got med. Yelled about the bathroom door being closed. All normal stuff

That's our sweet Checkers!
Thanks for those tips on tushie cleaning based on what works for Checkers. Keep cool back there, Barb. Hope you don't need to go out and about today and can just stay inside with the a/c.

That's a bigger drop than expected from +4 to 5. I hope that doesn't send him to unmentionable numbers tomorrow.

Hi Barb. Nice to read that Checkers is feeling good and at the Lagoon. I hope he has his surfing suit on.

Have a great day Barb.

Great day for Checkers, but I'm glad he decided to surf in safer waters than that +6! :o  Paws all crossed here that his liver takes a chill pill.

It looks like Checkers wants to stay in the lagoon for a while. I hope he keeps surfing safely and there's no bounce.

Thank you everyone. I let him play in tub today. The cold water dripping on his head, probably feels good.

I got to shave his undersides this morning. He complained, but didn't try to get away. I held him with his back against my front, like cutting toenails.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get much done with the knots, without shaving to his belly skin, which I was afraid would get irritated. It doesn't seem to grow out, so I can slip the shaver under the tiny knots. So now what? :YMSIGH:

Nicely surfed today Checkers, don't you wish they would cooperate like that every day?

Wow, what a day for you and Checks!!! For my civvie Petey, who also has wicked belly knots...the only thing that helps is time. He gets is knots in the spring, they eventually basically fall out on their own by the fall, he stays knot-free through the winter, and the second the humidity returns, it's back to square one. He won't let us brush his belly or otherwise mess with those knots, although he does let us work on his other knots (he's a long haired Maine Coon mix). One year, we did give him a lion cut, but that means anesthesia and I don't like doing that any more than necessary. So...I'm of no help, but I can completely sympathize.

Have a great evening, Barb!

Nice surf for Checkers, but Wow  39
It so nice Checkers let you shave him!!!
I wish my cat lets me too!
Lucy has lots of knots, but she is so attached to them (both literally and emotionally) and won't let me touch them :-D
So I have to wait for the next vet appointment, and ask them to help, which I think is more stressful for her.
How I've seem them do at the vet is, they slide in one of those very thin flat comb between skin and knots, and shave the knots over the comb, so the blade won't touch the delicate skin.
