Hello everyone
Unfortunately Sparky has had to go back on insulin after almost 2 years in remission. cat(2)_steam He has been thoroughly checked out and he just needs insulin again. So I have started him on 1 unit BID. I have never left this board posting occasionally and always checking up on things. There are many new faces here and some of the old ones.
A little history, Sparky was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago. With a diet change and a month and a half on Lantus he went into remission. He has always held his numbers in the range of 60-70's. SO I was very surprised to see the high numbers last week. He has not lost weight has actually has gained 1/2 pound since last year exam. So hopefully he will do the magic he did before.

welcome back - not really, but you know what I mean. :razz:
I'm sorry to hear Sparky is back on the juice, we are too after 11 months last year.
Hoping for a quick trip back to falls for Sparky!

Hi Sharon!
I hope Sparky can snap back into remission for you. You seem to have jumped on this quickly and I hope that vigilance will make a difference in whether he can do it again. BigMac was here a little before Sparky and went OTJ Dec '08 and was in remission until April of this year. So I understand your surprise. But kitties can do it again and get to the falls. You are sure in the right place to make it happen!

Sorry to see you back. Hopefully, this is just a short visit. Did you get Sparky in to the vet to make sure there isn't something like the need for a dental that fueling the higher numbers?

Yes, he was at the vet and he had his teeth checked (just had a dental last year) and I even had him checked for a UTI too. So I guess his pancreas just decided to take a summer vacation! I just hope it decides to go back to work when school begins when I go back to work.

Welcome back and hope Sparky will return to the Falls soon. Maggie had a five months remission and is back since early this year.
