Good morning LL!

Since switching from paws to ear pokes 3 weeks ago, it's been great seeing Junior steadily get better at testing. yesterday was truly a milestone. Before I was just happy to be able to get 4 pokes in per day. And yesterday I was able to do a curve!

Ok, maybe it's not a curve but more like a squiggle. But I can't believe I managed to do a curve! I didn't come out quite unscathed but the bites didn't puncture. Yay for small wins!

Anyway, my thoughts are with Mark's Buddy. Buddy was such an inspiration. Early on in our home testing, I don't know how many times I watched that video and asking Junior, "Why can't you be more like Buddy?"

RIP Buddy.

Bonnie: I think that is a beautiful curve and Junior is starting off great again today.

How nice of you to pay tribute to Buddy. That is also the same video we used to learn how to hometest Gracie. I don't know what we would have done without it but I can guarantee the experience would have been alot more traumatic for all of us if we hadn't watched that video numerous times before we ever did a pokey. What an amazing legacy for Buddy...he's saved so many lives.

I'm glad Junior is getting better at his pokeys. Don't you know that as soon as he just lays there and purrs, he'll go OTJ! :lol: :lol:

Thanks for posting the tribute to Buddy. As crazy as this sounds : I have never seen it... wish I had when we started out - it would have answered so many omgs... What a great legacy for Buddy!

I am glad that Junior is getting better with the pokies. Sure does make it nice when they cooperate. :-D

My brain always gets scrambled when I see a number like this. Should I shoot? Don't shoot? Feed and stall? Don't feed and stall?

Do you have any numbers between amps and the 69?

You shot a 76. I would stall if I could. :mrgreen:

I think I'm going to sort of stall until about 10 min before the hour and then flip a coin. Just kidding on the coin part.

I'm putting on my What Would the Experts Tell Me hat. I think they would tell me to shoot. Or not. Gah! I don't know!

Some general rules when stalling (ECID):

** Test often (every 15-20 minutes, or at most every 30 minutes). You want to catch the rise the minute it starts. With most of our cats, once they start to rise they will really zoom. You want to get the insulin in as soon as possible, because it will be another 2-3 hours before the insulin kicks in and you don’t want to let the cycle get too far ahead of you.

Good work. Sounds like you got it at the right time. Remember "shoot low to stay low"

Thanks Traci! Couldn't have done it without Natalia! I saw the 69 and everything I had in my little brain just flew out the window.

I'm glad I shot when I did. His number really jumped! Part of it is probably food spike but still!

The idea of this wonderful place is to cover each others backs :-D

I dont know if I could have kept my sanity (and I had little to begin with :lol: :lol: :lol: ) if it wasnt for FDMB
