Actually I need to do that. I did practice the drop method with holding the plunger in tight and inserting into pen then letting go. There really is a drop in the syringe! I will practice the .1 dose.

We leave on 7/28. I am hoping that his vaca dose, what ever that might be, won't make him hike up again like in April and it took me one month to get him regulated again. I do want him safe but I don't want him to be in the yellow and pinks again. He is look so good and I am so hopeful.

So you have 12 days yet. I totally understand the worry of not having him go so high. How long will you be away for? Is it Matt (or was it mark)that will be coming to look after him?

That's good, at least you know he is reliable and that your boys like him. How do you think he would cope with a 0.1u dose, should you reduce to that? (of course this might be academic depending on what Bubba has planned)

We are going away for a week in august to visit my outlaws, and I am fretting about George at the cattery, my friend is not able to look after him this time, she's away too. No insulin to worry about but it's his 3 hourly meals that concerns me. Once a helicopter always a helicopter.

I think that is eminent. By the looks of his SS I would say if he continues with mostly greens and the token 100ish for a food hike, that is a few days, I should try it. Which would mean if it holds, then the only vaca dose for Matt would be a drop.

That 55 today is edging closer to earning that reduction to .1u. He sure seems to be pretty consistent at the .25u. I obviously am still a little new, but with your upcoming travels it might be good to see how he reacts to the next step down on the ladder. With 12 days till leaving you have some time to figure out what is best for Bubba. I think 40 is the magic reduction number for long termers, but not sure how being so close to OTJ plays into the mix. I'll let others offer their more veteran advice. I might hold the .25 for a few days to see if he continues to drop into the 50/60 range or if it is a bit premature. I see he last week he dipped into the 50's but then bounced up a tiny bit which might make the .25 a good number still for now. This is more me thinking aloud then offering any real advice.
