Maggie was very hungry, but nearly stopped eating and walked away while I was trying to give her shot. I think my cat must be more tightly packed than everyone else's because I have a hard time pinching a tent. :( She actually pulls away like it hurts, not just like "hey, stop prodding me." Oh well, life would be boring if everything was too easy,,,

Nice start for Maggie. Where do you give the shot? I can get a better tent on Furball's right side than I can her left side. I can barely get any skin on the left side, so I only shoot on the right side.

Hi Alicia, I had the best luck tenting Bubba's skin on either side of the shoulder area. If the injection is hurting her, it could be you are in muscle inside of just under the skin. Some kitties are more "tightly packed" than others. That was a good description, LOL

Nice start for Maggie.

I tent on the upper rear flank, alternating between left and right. I'll pay closer attention and see if one side tents easier than the other.

It's the pinching/tenting that seems to hurt rather than the injection itself. I'll try giving some injections in the shoulder area and see if that is any easier on her.

Thanks to both of you for the input! :bighug:
