Once again, I didnt give Jupiter any tramadol today, because he seems to be doing a little tiny bit better without it - still hiding a lot but not as much. Hes still not eating enough sometimes. I am still having to coax him to eat by putting freeze dried treats, tuna flakes, or an appetizer on top his food...But for a few days his appy was so bad that sometimes I couldnt even get him to eat the appetizers... so atleast now he is eating those...cant leave those appetizers out for free feeding though, because civies will eat all the appetizer - so I am just offering him some every once in a while during the day or I put some of the appetizer on top the LC and mix it in a little so even if the civies try to eat some of the appetizer they cant just eat the whole thing since its mixed in... and just the appetizer being mixed into the food... Jupe will still eat sometimes.

Surgery is soon.... on Thursday the 18th. I cant wait for the surgery because I just want Jupiter to get his poor little foot taken care of so he will start feeling better. BUT... I am starting to feel nervous...

I have a fever and feel really sick... a lot of pain and I am so tired (I think its a kidney infection... I get them pretty frequently and it usually takes weeks worth of antibiotics to get rid of it)... I kept falling asleep all day yesterday and just have no energy at all. I am hoping to go see the doc this week before Jupes surgery.
The car that Dane uses for work - the battery keeps dying and it keeps needing jumped everytime to start it. The guy who fixes our car said it needs replaced. So today Dane had to take the other car to work... the one that leaks gas. (And I am really hoping that he doesnt get into trouble for using this car - he is expected to have a safe car to drive his clients in - he works with kids - and he could lose his job for transporting them in an unsafe car) So getting to the doctors before Jupiters surgery is going to be tough because its very hard to get into docs schedule last minute - and I have to work around Danes work schedule atleast today and tomorrow. We should be able to get the battery by wednesday - then Dane can use that car and leave me with the car that leaks gas so I can go to the doctors - if they can squeeze me into the schedule. And atleast if we get the battery by Wednesday - I will have a car here on Thursday, the day of Jupes surgery.

The plan is ... Dane and I are both going to take Jupiter to the vet in the morning on Thursday. Then Dane has to go to work. The vet said she is not sure exactly what time Jupiter will be done.... but he should only be there for a few hours... So I am glad that I will have a car by then so that if Dane is still at work, I will be able to go pick up Jupiter. Would feel horrible to have to leave him there any longer then necessary since his anxiety is so bad.

I want to make sure everything is ready though. I think the night before the surgery I will sleep with Jupiter in the bedroom with the door shut because hes not allowed to eat after 9pm... (my bed is in the living room so no door to close) and if I take the food away.... the civies will search and destroy the house. I also need to find a way from keeping Jupiter from going under the couch... he likes to hide under or in the couch and since he is so big he has to put pressure on his legs to squeeze under there and I am worried about him hurting his leg after surgery.... Coaxing him out from under the couch to check on him might end up being too hard...dont want him to get scared and squeeze under there then be in too much pain to try to come back out...and I also want to make sure we have any food and supplies he may need the day of and atleast the day following the surgery. Really worried about not having enough cans of his favorite foods.

:YMSIGH:

Really worried but just praying and praying that everything works out, and that the surgery goes well and that we get good news about the biopsy.

Last night when I tried to check his paw, and when I touched that sore spot, he bit me! He has never bit me before....

Re: 7/15 Jupiter AMBG/67 surgery this week

Sending feel better, calming and safe car vines to all of you. So much is happen to you at once. Perhaps after the surgery you could just push some extra pillows or rolled up blanket under the couch so he can't get under there?

Re: 7/15 Jupiter AMBG/67 surgery this week

Jamie,

Prayers for you, Jupiter and Dane. Hope that all goes well with the car, and that you get to the doctor too. I think you will be all prepared for the surgery, but I know how nervewracking it all is. Too much going on at once-!

Thinking of you cat_pet_icon

Hi Jamie,

Yippee on improved appy!! And just a thought - does the couch have legs that you can screw off? I know that some do, but not all.

Counting down..........
