My last day with Callie. Still high and flat, although I didn't do any PM spot checks yesterday, since I only had two strips left and wanted to make sure I could do her AMPS test. I'll try to squeeze in a stop at Walmart today to get more strips...kinda iffy, though, and I have one more strip for the evening PS. However, its the 2nd day of the new dose, and spot checks will be important..

One thought about why her numbers won't come down: She has only pooped once in five days. It was on the 3rd day and it was biblical in scope, although perfectly healthy. Could be the unfamiliar surroundings? This is actually the 2nd time she has stayed here. Anyway, I'm hoping she'll do it again - do you think that could keep her numbers up?

Janet + family will be back sometime this evening, and Callie will go home. I'm going to drive a few miles and meet them near the highway exit for the Passing Off of Callie.

Thanks to all of you for having eyes on her. Although I have reams of FD experience, it wasn't with Lantus, but with levemir, and anyway, it's a big responsibility making decisions for someone else's cat.

She just pooped, as I'm sure you've all breathlessly been waiting to find out. I'll pick up some strips...Janet said she'll reimburse me. (Yes, money is that tight!)

Woohoo for poo! :-D Detective Poo (my alter ego) is always pleased with poo reports.  It is a big responsibility to take care of someone else's cat, and especially a diabetic one. You are very sweet to do that. Happy Monday!

+11 112 I do believe she is a late nadir cat. I thought so early on too.

Is there an article anywhere on late nadir cats that I could pass on to Janet. I would think you just have so much data from the early part of the cycle that you can feel comfortable shooting that lower PS. But I can't find enough consistencies in this SS

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... 1Ync#gid=0

So now my dilemma is: should I feed her now, hoping to bring her up a bit by shot time. Also, that would give her a chance to at least start digesting before her carride. Or do I wait until PMPS to feed? If anyone sees this in the next little while, your advice is greatly appreciated!

Oh! Or can anyone direct me to the SS of another late nadir cat that Janet could use as inspiration?
