Good Morning, Everyone.
It's Bastille Day and the Tour de France is really getting exciting. Rusty and I are watching the first day in the Pyrenees as I type.
Rusty is bouncing a bit from his low green last night. He ate all of his nighttime food and just finished his second sitting of breakfast. We had our combing. The weather is very warm and the LagoonMeister is hoping to get back into the surf soon. This afternoon I have to go to Plattsburgh to get him some fuds.
Our paddle yesterday was great. The trails on the carries were not as muddy as we expected and the waters were mostly calm on the ponds (almost glass-like) and quite choppy on the St. Regis lakes, which we paddled at the end of the day. Loons were plentiful, all of them with a chick or two (the chicks ride on their parent's backs, slide off into the water, and then back on to rest. Loon parents are very attentive, the males and females share in the care of the chicks.
Yesterday, when we got home, I saw mama deer and her two fawns behind our barn. I suspected that she had two because she always went into the yard next door after checking on the fawn she had stashed in our grass. Now that the fawns are bigger, they are with their mama all the time.
Wishing you all a good day and continuing to send our condolences to Jamie on the loss of Jupiter. What a brave kitty he was!
