Hi everyone,
Ruby's test results came in and her ionized calcium is mildly high. Bloodwork was also done on her parathyroid hormones, and they are low. From what I understand there is a bit of a feedback loop between calcium levels and parathyroid hormones--when calcium is up, parathyroid goes down, and vice versa. Hypercalcemia is most common among cats with malignant lymphomas. The oncologist says that she wants to keep Ruby on prednisolone as that is likely what is keeping calcium levels down. What I would like to understand from Ruby's oncologist is why she still opts not to treat Ruby's SCL with chlorambucil. I'm going to place a call in to discuss this with her further. She doesn't seem to want to discuss it at all with me anymore after I pushed for chemo pretty hard early on, but with this calcium issue I feel pretty strongly that I need a second opinion. Not sure where I will go to get that and what it will take.
In the meantime, I've started adding soaked chia to her food, stopped the Lactulose and replaced it with Miralax. Now her poops are smaller so I can't tell hers from Olive's apart anymore, so I will have to install Poop Cam again.
I have a recheck appointment with the AMC doctor in two months, and at that point we will recheck her calcium levels to see if they have improved from the modification of her diet.

I'm "fortunate" that my two have different preferred pooping locations and only one of them bothers to cover.
