Dear Friends,
Is it summer? Between 90& degree days and now a cold damp rain front (turned heat on this afternoon to get the raw damp out) it's anyone guess. I don't remember such extremes but it is what it is.

Sootie's Tribe hanging in. Bella recovered from that unanticipated major dental and has her second acupuncture session next week.

Spunky was engrossed with the activities of nesting baby birds whose parents had made a nest in the Christmas wreath that I left up. The squawking, constantly fed little beaks fledged on July 4th.

Azalea had a second 7-day pulse dose of Zithromax a few weeks ago when her mouth flared up again. Not as effective as the first time and i think it messed up her appy for awhile in spite of the probiotics and her other support supplements. She still loves acupuncture, now almost weekly. She's one steady sturdy girl that's for sure. I don't think we'll be repeating Zithromax.

Dancer has been a card and has been my rug hooking helper. Last weekend, in the effort to get my bearings back, I resumed my rug hooking project. Transferred the design onto the linen and started. Dancer likes to get up on the arm of the chair, then slide onto my lap atop the rug project and then onto the other arm of the chair. Back and forth. I don't have the heart to shoo her off. Perhaps she is offering her approval, knowing that the subject is a black cat, much like she is! I wonder if she will like it as much when it's complete.

Heaps of healing, gentle times and sweet dream vines to all. And a relaxing weekend, too.

With ❤
Sina and Sootie's Tribe

Hi Sina! It is so lovely to hear from you! As always, I am amazed at how much you have going on in your household. I hope Azalea feels better soon!

I love your rug! I am also working on a latch hook rug. Mine is going to take me forever to finish. Kitty Halloween is the one who likes to "help" me with mine. ;)

Amanda , thank you and thank you for sharing your latch hook project! I love it and look forward to seeing the completed rug! And I'll be sure to pass along to Dancer that she has a comrade in rug making projects: your kitty Halloween (is she black too?).
With every stitch, I'm hoping that I'm not creating a loop pulling haven for kitty cat claws, especially for polydactyl Dancer. :banghead: At least with latch hooking, the loops are on the underside! :)
Have a peaceful weekend:):bighug::)

Hi Sina,
Great to hear this report on the Tribe. I hope they all continue to do well. I know what you mean about the weather. This spring/summer has been so damp: one good day and then 6 days of "changeable" weather. I keep waiting for the whole pattern to improve. I hate mopping the cellar floor every 12 hours and laying down 25 big sponges in the worst spots. Fortunately our sump pump is working.
Your kitty rug looks great. Is it for one of the cats?

I had to smile at your adventures in your mother's VW bug. Those early "Käfers" were amazing. We had a later model (1971--our first car; we had it for 21 years, at which point it was running on memory). I could even do simple maintenance on it. That sure isn't the case in today's electronic miracles.

Have a good summer. Stay on your feet!

Hugs and scritches

Hi Ella, great to hear from you. Cellar floor mopping, though weather-related and probably an improvement over other kinds of causes, still is the pits. Hope weather steadies itself soon.

Yes lots of memories with my mother's vw, from riding to and from nursery school to learning to drive (she decided that age 12 was a good time to learn foot pedal and gear shift coordination, how to pop the clutch to bypass flooded engine or quirky starter motor and so on ....but swore me to secrecy: "don't ever tell your father!"). And then thru the early '70's. I think the odometer had recycled itself over to zero at least 3 times when my mother sold it in the mid 70's and it was still on the original engine. The vw era from the 50's -early '70's were good years for real cars!

We had some devastating news yesterday that threw me for a loop...we learned that a dear friend, a crusty, irascible, heart of gold hydroponic organic gardener friend of ours died in a one car accident Saturday morning, with his oldest son (age 17) in critical condition. Today his son's condition was upgraded to stable. But we are all dazed by the suddenness of it all. I have a feeling he hasn't missed a beat to rail at all the pharmaceutical and gmo ceo's who are somewhere in the realms that he's traversing. RIP, Robert Burns:rb_icon:

Sorry for your loss. The sudden, unexpected are like a punch in the stomach. Prayers for healing for his son.
