Well he's eating all right, just still doesn't seem like himself. Breathing seems ok for now.

@Katsallday re:scale. That's what I do for my kids lol My digital scales are in 0.2lb increments, so I'd call it accurate to about 0.4 lbs. That'd be a decent amount of fluid if he had it.

He's yet to use litterbox today, not entirely unusual. We also moved him to a different room, so might just be too scared.

I bought a digital baby scale to be more accurate and I am so glad I did. It was about $40. When I started fostering my now failed fosters they also suggested I use a digital scale. As kittens they would often sleep on it.

Hope you and mr kitty have a good day! Sorry to hear he’s not yet himself - he did go thru quite the ordeal. Nice AMBG! :D

Mr Kitty's fluid cytology results came back as "confusing", oy twice in one week getting inconclusive results. ER vet left a message, will talk to her tomorrow.

They do think it's most likely chyle, so for now will treat as if it's that. Will hope that the diet and rutin resolve it, or goes away on its own. Otherwise.... prognosis not good.

I guess good news is it's not infection so can drop the clavamox. One less med to give!

Oh Melissa I just really feel for you and what you are dealing with and no clear answers. But there is still hope. You must be so overwhelmed. And what about that BG! Wow!

:banghead::banghead: I've yet to have a fluid cytology come back with a conclusive answer. Makes you wonder what you paid for.

Two less meds - clavamox and insulin. I've seen many a kitty here feel off with clavamox, cause it plays havoc with the good bacteria in the gut. Paws crossed ditching the AB helps.

Thank you! I'm kicking myself for getting rid of the one I used for my daughter

PMBG 63! I'm not holding my breath, but it's a darn shame that we have such beautiful numbers on little to no insulin, and now we have the chylothorax to fight. As long as the vet can keep draining it (he's being very kind and will see him during lunch as needed, and waiving exam fees, just cost of chest tap itself), we can keep that up (I mean hey, beats insulin cost )

Now that cytology through ER...that pisses me off. Like Wendy said - I paid $350 to be told it's "confusing"??

This is what I'm hoping for. His appetite is astronomical today, we went through a 5.5oz can plus oz of raw. Going through a lot of water which is a bit concerning, but breathing ok and litter output seems to match.

This could be a stretch but is there a college of veterinary near you? My last dog had a fatal cancer and only place within 4 hours of driving that could do a blood transfusion was a college. Maybe they are more equipped with people that can do that culture for you and give you a real answer? I also know some colleges offer discounted and financing options for patients. When I was going through helping tuna with his DX I looked up a local researcher (at the same college I would have went to for my dogs cancer) who has written case reports on curing diabetes in animals via a pill. He was going to be my next step. You may get lucky like me and find a teaching doctor that specializes in a helpful field for Mr kitty
