We have decreased Gideon's Lantus to 1.5 units BID while we are away. We will see how he does. He has been bouncing around quite a bit, and even going in the 40's mid-day, which is a bit scary. Carbs really effect him, so it is not too hard to get him increased. Today at +6, his BG was 86. Normally I would have reached for some 12% carb food, but I told the pet sitter to just feed him his normal food. Vet tech is coming in a couple hours and if he is 150+, she will give him his 1.5 units of Lantus. We still have 4 days left of vacation, but I do wish I was home with my fur babies. I am thankful for the pet sitter who stays at the house, and for the vet tech coming twice daily.
