Good morning! I dont know why she is so high this am! I got a +6.5 last night at 2am and she was 331, so she just kept rising since pmps. I wonder if anyone knows if I give the shot into muscle, would that make a difference? Ive had some difficulty lately finding a good injection site. Her skin seems to be very thin near her flanks, so Ive been shooting towards the shoulder area where its thicker. I think sometimes it goes in the muscle. Could this be affecting her #s? She has been clearing her bounces quicker lately, so Im stumped as to why she seems to be still bouncing. Ok, Im off to work now and mom is testing today. I will try to update from work if its not too crazy as it usually is on Monday! Have a great day everyone.Also..caught her in the LB and tested.. neg ketone!

Chi Chi could still be bouncing from the greens she had the other day....it can take up to 72 hours to clear a bounce. I'm not sure if shooting into the muscle would be a problem...but I also think if you did hit muscle, you probably would know it (and Chi Chi would let you know!). I could be wrong, though!

I saw in your SS you were thinking increasing a bit. She may need more juice, but personally I would actually give her a few more cycles, since she did have greens on Saturday. It always took Trix a little while to completely settle into a new dose, whether it was an increase or a decrease.

Hi Laura, I don't have any dosing advice, but hopefully Chi-Chi will clear this bounce quickly, it's hard to see, I know! Re: the injection site, every single time I have tried to inject somewhere other than the scruff of the neck, it seems to hurt Tiger and when she pulls away, it ends up being a fur shot. :oops: She is a small thin cat with not lot of fat on her, and there just isn't enough thick skin to grab onto. The only good thing about bouncing is at least you might get a good night's sleep...

Hi Ruth! yes, the skin is so thin in areas and no elasticity. Im almost afraid to go get her +3 right now, because I was trying to find a good spot to inject again, and..well, I smelled insulin on her fur afterwards. It might have been just the excess insulin from when I pushed out excess...her numbers will tell if it was a furshot Im sure.

Looks like you got the insulin in. :-D I hate the smell of insulin.

I agree with Amy, I'd wait to see what happens when ChiChi clears this bounce. Sometimes cats bounce just because they can. :roll:
