Good evening,

after an almost flat pink boucing night Binie went down nicely today. We had a longer stretch of blue with numbers a little below 150. We went back to only low carb food as I am home to monitor. I am overall happy with that! :) Also no vomiting today.

I am not so happy how the surgery area looks like. Seems like it is bothering her still a lot and she licked quite a lot lately and the skin is open in some parts. I just ordered collodial silverspray @Fistuk & Shelly suggested. Thank you for that! Hope that helps her, the herbal wound spray didn't do much. We have an appointment at the vet on thursday. I hope the wounds are just superficial. I try to see her better numbers as a good sign, that it is not a big deal. I really don't want her to wear a cone again, as the situation with the dissoving threads can still go on for a while.

Hope everyone is having a relaxed sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, I’m so glad to see beautiful blues for Binie :cool:
And such good news of no more vomiting. Hopefully it was a brief episode and it’s over. Paws crossed :)

I’m sorry she’s still dealing with her wound. I hope that vet has some good advice to give you on how to help that heal. Is that diabetes making it harder to heal?

I hope the spray you ordered will help. You’re so good at checking out everything to make sure she’s as comfortable as possible.
I hope you have a restful night and both feel well. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci, thank you so much for the good wishes and the support! :bighug::bighug::bighug: As far as I understood, there is an ongoing allergical reaction in her skin, as the threads from the surgery dissolve slowly. Seems to be itchy and so she tries to relieve herself by licking. If Binie would not be diabetic, the vet would give her steroids to stop the reaction. As she is diabetic, we try to manage without and I give her the boswellia instead. But it seems to be not effective enough. Of course the diabetes itself also doesn't help for a better healing process. I really hope the collodial silver helps.

I hope you and Ivy can also relax tonight! I picture Ivy in her cosy room with the world-best room service. :)
