(To anyone who isn't aware..I shoot at 1:00 that is why I don't have PS numbers when I post).
Thanks everyone for all of the good advice yesterday and especially for those who gave information on appy stimulants and probiotics. I'm quite sure that the reason my vet doesn't want to give Alex n appetite stimulant is because they all carry a side effect of speeding of the heart rate and Alex is on medication to slow down the heart rate (Atenelol) as he has HCM. He ate on his own on Sunday and vomited his guts up on Monday like he had never vomited before in his life. I'm thinking that possibly he is associating that with eating? Or maybe he doesn't want to eat because his bowels are still mushy and he's crampy? He's going back on Flagyl and hopefully that will help. I am getting food down him, I'm not just letting him go without eating. I hope no one thinks that. I'm just not giving him very much right now as I want his stomach to have time to heal. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when it does, he'll come around. At least he's showing some interest now, even though he isn't eating on his own yet.
Now Jackson is really sick. Sicker than Alex was except that he doesn't have Alex's issues. I slept on the floor with him half of last night he was so sick. Alex who usually growls at him slept with him too, his paw on Jackson's leg for part of the night. Jackson was moaning he felt so bad. He's been to the vet again this morning and he seems to be quieted down THANK GOD. I really was afraid last night. He was straining so hard to move his bowels and there was nothing in him so blood was coming out of his poor irritated tush. Every time he did this his gag reflex was initiated and at first he was dry heaving, then the white foamy pukus started coming up, then bile by this morning. He could barely walk by the time I got him to the vet at like 8:00AM, he was whimpering in his carrier and was just as sick as anyone I've ever seen  His temp was 104.6 this morning. He got more fluids and a shot of reglan (which seems to be working). I was told to wait 90 minutes and give him Flagyl which I did and at first it looked like he was going to start gagging...but he didn't. He's sleeping again. The vet told me to try to syringe him a little Recovery a little later and see if he can hold that down. Maybe I'll see if Alex will eat it too...can't hurt.
I know there are a lot worse problems out there..but from his end, this has been a really awful week so far. I hope to get some sleep this afternoon now that Jacky and Alex are more peaceful.(unjinx, unjinx)
no p's are in order
(well, maybe peeing)
Happy Humpday everyone!
