Well we haven’t seen reds like this for a while. Could it be NDW? Or the skin infection near his mouth? Or perhaps the Convenia shot?

He ate fine overnight but it did take a sprinkle of fortiflora to get him to eat his shot-time breakfast, which he just threw up. UGH!

He has no history of ketones but I’ll check today as soon as I can - ketosticks onhand!

Don't you hate when they are dancing around a dose?? Do you think he's nauseous / do you have any ondansetron on hand? That's pretty much the only thing I have in my toolbox for madam when she's not eating even after I open 6 different varieties. I don't have experience with convenia but I think infections are supposed to cause a rise in BG. Plus I think you're still in the window for NDW. Good news on the ketones.

@Liz & Minnie i have a few doses of Cerenia that I can use. I’ve been thinking and the last two nights I’ve tried to yank his dry (he eats maybe a tablespoon or two; i have been sick so have slept near their food bowl areas)… I’ve fed him wet when we wake up on the couch (LOL) and then leave another bowl of wet out, plus a bowl of frozen wet so it thaws. So I think that system isn’t working. He eats fine for the rest of the day. I may try giving him some pepcid before bed and see if that helps.

yea the NDW is maddening! His skin infection is quite large and the timing is coincidental so I would not be surprised if that’s playing a big part. Ugh!

I like that +7.5. There is also a phenomenon we call the high before the low. As cats are breaking the bounce, some will go up before come slamming down.

luckily no panic this time - but my god I can’t believe there’s such a big difference in effectiveness in 0.25 unit!

he’s chowing on some LC with a bit of HC mixed in. We are home all eve so he’s in good hands.

Geez Snuggie - good thing I had an alarm set and mother’s intuition had me wake up before it! 60 @+7.25?!

Fed a mix of mostly HC plus some LC, he was at 138 when I tested at +9.5, so I may have gone overboard on the HC.

Curious what his AMPS will be!
