Currently in a bounce since hitting 96 on 7/12, I was concerned that he was going to do his normal Friday night dive, since that has been his MO for 4 consecutive weeks.
Did he dive last night? I don't know! But sometimes, ignorance is bliss, and I now telling myself that this 4+ week pattern of diving on Friday nights is finally over. Hahahahaha! (Denial isn't only a river in Africa, as the saying goes.)
I was bone-tired by the time I got home from my mom's last night and did his +3 which was a respectable 254. I was tempted to go to bed and get a good night's sleep, but, due to Pumbaa's diving history, I set my cellphone alarm for midnight (which is +6), and tried napping on the couch. At midnight, I could barely summon the energy to hit the snooze button every five minutes, much less get up and test Pumbaa. I finally did force myself to get up at 1:45 am and tested Pumbaa at +8. I don't know if his 193 was a back-on-the-rise number, or the result of a continued drop. In any case, his AMPS this morning (7/14) was 468, which could either be due to low number I didn't catch last night, a continuation of his bounce from 7/12, or a combination of those plus the fact that I was 45 minutes late testing and shooting him this morning. (At 2 am, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I used the control solution I had finally received to test my meter, had some quality petting time with all 3 of my animules, tried reading to put myself to sleep, considered getting up and working since I was wide awake, and finally got to sleep sometime after 3:30 am.)
In any case, I'm thankful that Pumbaa has hit a blue every day since I increased him back up to 1.50U on 7/11. I going to try to be patient and wait the full 72 hours for him to clear his bounce of 7/12 before increasing his dose. And, once again, I am thankful that we broke his pattern of one day of low numbers followed by six days of high numbers. And I am thankful that he continues to register negative for ketones.
