Hello LL! I haven't been around really at all lately, but in times of need, we all come running home to our family, right? ;-)

Muffin was drinking water this morning...she never drinks water, as I water down her food every time. My first thought was maybe I wasn't putting enough water in her food? It's been really hot here this week. That was closely followed by...she stays indoors...I should check her BG. Saw the 113 and called the vet immediately to schedule an appt for this afternoon. No possible contraband in the last 24 hrs, so something must be going on with her. She's been acting pretty normally lately. She's been a bit MORE active recently, and with her civvie brother Shnookie developing hyperT, and on meds for that, that's a concern in the back of my mind. I had decided to just wait for her yearly exam next month to get it checked out, as she's eating normally, not losing weight...I'm just hoping she's been feeling extra good! But now with this, I'll have that checked today as well. This morning, from looking at her, I couldnt' tell anything was amiss, but now she's been under the bed, and her fur is getting just the slightest bit spikey. Please send vines, etc...hopefully it's something simple and easily fixed.

Everyone else is doing well around here...Shnookie goes in tomorrow for vaccines, Sam goes Monday for hers and her yearly exam and BW, and Kibby goes Tuesday for all that. Cleetus and Oscar are due next month. Oscar has become quite the hunter...many dead birds in the yard, and a few mice. Not sure if some are Cleetus' or not. Anyway, I'll update after the vet visit.

Sending lots of good luck vines to Muffin. Let's just hope it is a little blip due to summer weather.
Get back to all greens Muffin!

Hi Anne, sending good Vetty vines for Muffin; I hope it is nothing serious but best to get her checked out. Let us know what the Vet says.

Sending lots of vetty vines to Muffin, I hope it was just the hot weather. This morning maybe she figured out that you were taking her to the vetty and she decided to hide. ;-)

Thank you CD, Anne, Ann and Ann  We are back from the vet. Muffin has been meatloafing under the bed all day, and never finished her breffis. We are running a senior panel and spec fPLi. Her bladder was empty, and I didn't want to leave her there, so no urinalysis, but we are both suspecting pancreatitis anyway. I'll get partial results tomorrow, but spec fPLi not until Monday. She was quite unhappy about going, but they gave her a towel to hide in while she was there, and it seemed to really help. So I fixed her blanket in her carrier to have a flap she could hide under on the way home, and she didn't make a peep. I'm going to give her an hour or so to calm down and then I'll give her some bupe just in case.

Hi Anne - oh my! I hope all is well with Muffin. I think it was a good idea to get things checked out, just to be sure. maybe it is the weather, maybe just an off day - one never can say for sure. Lots of be ok Muffin vines headed your way! Please let us know when have have the labs back. I will be thinking of you guys! Be Well Muffin!

Muffins??? You not feeling good? I will bring some KTSS stuff - I got lots of chicken soup and stuff. You will be all better in no time, you'll see! On my way -- Mannie

Hi Sienne and Michelle! She is eating, but not as much as usual. She spent the later afternoon in the pantry... ohmygod_smile sitting up, which I guess is better than meatloafing? I brought her back upstairs a couple of hours ago, and she's out and about, so seems to be feeling a little better. She asked for dinner, but has only sniffed at it so far. I haven't given bupe yet, and now am wondering if she even needs it. She's bathing on her cat tree right now. So maybe it was just a punk day after all, or maybe the KTSS has worked it's magic. I'll post lab results when I get them.

((((Anne)))). I hope this was just a weird blip and Muffin is ok...good that you got her into the vet so quickly. Pls keep us posted.

Miss you!

Glad you took Muffin to the vet, you know when your baby isn't feeling well and you acted on it! I hope that Muffin is feeling better today after a nice rest. FWIW, Spot gets in a funk mood occasionally and I also whisk him off to the vet asap. Usually they can find nothing wrong with him and the next day he is back to normal. Funk mood includes not wanting to eat, laying around meatloafing sometimes or just loafing and higher bg's. My Ralphie and Ali get that way sometimes too. I give them a dose or two of pepcid just to make sure that their tummies get settled. Ask your vet if you can get injectable pepcid next time...I find that works quicker and much easier to give then pilling.

Ok, Muffin......purrs to you sweetie! Hope you are up and about today and your tummy wants food!
