Good day to all!

Morgaine seems a little perkier today and was actually licking my arm this AM. She hadn't done that in a while.

I have stopped measuring her water intake and am just going to trust this process. It helps me to be patient. Thanks to those who reminded me yesterday about how well we were doing.

You are doing great!! Morgaine's numbers look good today!

So far it is ALL blue!

I noticed that Tarragon in a Maine Coon. I believe Morgaine has a great deal of Maine Coon in her. She is a very large cat with the tufted paws, square body and lovely large plume of a tail. She also has many other Maine Coon charateristics. Of course, she was adopted at 8 months after her previous owner dumped her at the Humane Society with a rap sheet a mile long, so i will never know her actual background. Her rap sheet turned out to be normal, nocturnal kitten behaviors which i found totally delightful and endearing.

Hi Rosalie,
Morgaine is really doing well. I'm glad that the whole routine is getting easier for her and for you. I like her picture. Rusty is also a Maine Coon mix with beautiful long hair, a mane, ear tufts, etc.
Wishing you both a nice evening,

Ella & Rusty

Glad you decided to trust in this, you will definitely see progress...Every little behavior that returns is proof that this works & your baby is getting better!
Rosalie, you are doing great, please just keep trying on those patience pants--They help!
Hugs from us!

Yup, for a kitty on insulin just 17 days that is one GOOD looking spreadsheet!

I went on vacation and came back to see lots of new kitties.
So hello there Rosalie and Morgaine! :-D

What a beautiful blue day over here! ! !
And what a beautiful ss - blue with a sprinkle of yellow. . .
Your patience will pay off.

(it took 5 months, 6u of Lantus and 4u of R per cycle before we saw our first blue number...we didn't know BK was IAA until 8 months into the journey)

Yes, we did have a nice blue day today. I have never heard of IAA but will look that up.

So, were you using Regular insulin and how did that work in BK? Is R commonly used for kitties with high, stubborn numbers or just for certain conditions like IAA? How about humalog? Is that ever used? It is very fast acting and it is what all pump users use or they use Novalog, same type of insulin but different manufacturer. I always wonder if any studies have been done on cats and fast acting insulins to bring really high numbers down. I would think the kitty would need very close observation and possibly hospitalization.

I am beginning to really accept and understand the need to go slow and the need for patience. I actually had a very nice day today and so did Morgaine. I even had company tonight and was able to just allow Morgaine to do her usual thing and hang out in her private space in the closet. She is sometimes very social but tonight's company was the man who had to corner her and put her in the carrier to go to the vet. She isn't ready to forgive him yet but she is working on it. She tried to hang out with us but eventually gave into her need to hide from him, LOL!
