Yesterday was GREEN LAGOON day in MannieLand.   Mannie had a great AM cycle surf - in the 70/80 range for most of the morning. It really was nice to see him make it back to the lagoon. Oh course he shot up in the PM cycle. I think alot of this new pattern of high PM cycle stuff, for at least what I see of it, is in part due to kitty stress. By +2 we've washed his butt, again and again, and given him his meds (oral liquid). He's really very good about it all, but one can also tell he really isn't too thrilled with the whole thing. Perhaps it all stresses him out some. Today is also UltraSound day. His appt is at noon. Paws crossed this all goes well. I will post once I have any information. Don't worry Mannie - it will all be OK. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D He was one happy dude yesterday: he got really good fuds. This bean was just happy the appetite continues to be good, and he ate all that I gave him,. CPC several times.  Nicholas was one wound up happy happy kid yesterday - spent alot of time running here there and everywhere in the house, exercising THE VOICE, and just having fun. Poor Mannie! With the several pokies in the morning I finally took him to a quiet spot where he could be poked without wondering if that whirl was headed right at him.    Nicholas is beginning to understand that even though they are best buds, Mannie just doesn't care for THE VOICE. He made several attempts today to cool it when coming up to Mannie. I found that rather touching... Mannie had his nanners delivered, onto his back, by a very gentle and caring hand.   This morning we had a great test, shoot and clean plate club (the president founder and CEO can still claim his title, officially!) - AND the auto feeder was ignored by Mannie  Since the appy stuff started this is becoming an issue again. Elsa , however, still thinks it has her name on it, so yet again I am running interception.... Some things just never change. Normalcy in MannieLand.

Have a great day everyone! No DGS today, as it is Mannie's U/S, and I just didn't think it fair to either to wait it out in a vetty place, and through an US. So.... DGS will spend the day with the other grandparents. Bummer on that - I will miss the kid. Today, however, is Mannie's day, and he deserves my attention. :-D

Hey everybody! WOOT! We gots another party to do!! AND --- it's in NYC !!! WOO HOO! I so lubs NY! Salem is OTJ - so off we go. I f we get there really enough we will have time for few hot dog carts, YUM! Grab your stuff kitchen krew - we is off to the BIG APPLE !! WOO HOO! ~ Mannie

And completely OT: Here are some photos from DGS's and my hike adventure yesterday - our local park, adn Picnic Point. The sun was out, weather was warm - a great day to be out. I've also included the FaceBook links for anyone who wants to see all the photos: Park Fun and NIcholas at picnic Point

Many "Good U/S" vines coming you way!!!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284

Yo Mannie,
I'm crossin' my paws that all will be OK with your ultrasound. And I'm comin' over later with KTSS to get the vetty smell off of you before we go to Salem's OTJ party tonight. See ya later,
Your pal,
Rusty

Hi Michelle, I'll be checking in with you later from my phone (if possible), but certainly this evening when I get home from the reunion. Good vetty vines for today.

Great pics from yesterday.

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284

Wow Michelle what a nice morning yesterday for Mannie. Sending lots of good Vetty vines for Mannie's U/S today. We will be sending positive thoughts and waiting with you on results. Cute pics of Nicholas yesterday. It looks like it was a nice day, too.

Hey Mannie, I agree with Rusty that KTSS should come to you first and rid Vetty smell and then we'll all party with Salem, k. I have some nice lavender scent, nice for boys, too. See ya soon, Mags

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284

Beautiful am cycle yesterday for Mannie. You're probably right about stress raising his bgs in the pm cycles. And best of luck to you and Mannie for the ultrasound today! While it's not an invasive or painful exam, traveling and being in a strange scary place are pretty stressful, but Mannie can handle it! :)

Thank you so much! I'll be expecting you in Queens, but you have plenty of time for a stroll through the park and visiting a few hot dog carts!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324

I am hoping that Mannie's ultrasound goes smoothly, and that you get a good report. Sending lots of U/S vines your way.

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324

324 @ +2. BLECH! but part of me is sorta glad to see it... at least then I won't have to worry about a kitty and vetty visit and low or falling numbers and and and... it's a safe, traveling appt number. :? :-D :-D

Morning Linda - thanks so much for thinking of us!!! Me too on the good report. I hope so, and all that has been gong on with him is just do to this giardia stuff. Time to know for sure!

Morning Amy - YAY huh! Yesterday was great. Now if he could visit those blues and greens a bit more often. :-D :-D Many thanks on the good U/S vines - so appreciated!!!

Morning Ella - Hey - thanks! We hope for the best! Thanks so much for thinking of us. Pics were cool, weren't they - such a happy boy, aka world class creek wader!

Hi Ann - yesterday was so great - loved it. it was nice to see him be able to do that on this adjusted dose. Been over 30 cycles on it - amazing. Many thanks on the good U/S vines - so appreciated!!! And yes on DGS - he had such fun yesterday - LOL: up to his thighs in the creek.   , but very cool too!

Hi Camille - Thanks, and I think so on the stress. well, one never knows for sure with him, but it seems to be the new pattern since we started all this anti-bug/parasite stuff... oh yeah on the U/S today. He'll not be too happy, but they do a good job there and will take good care of him. Now if he will just be a good boy for them.... Paws crossed. Thanks for the well wishes! LOL on the stroll and the hot dog carts. Those kitties lead such a life!

Maggie - YAY! the KTSS is coming. and uhhhhh..... don't tell anyone, but I really like the lavender smell. it's kinda nice, ya know? I am SO EXCITED to be going to NYC for Salem's party - more hotdogs!! WOOT! See you soon ~~ Mannie

Rusty! DUDE! I so agree.... one cannot have there head chef smelling like a vetty office. I'm uhhhhh.... going to need a BIG apron.... my bean says I'm gonna loose my belly fur... DUDE so uncool ya know? I hope my apron covers that up.... hay man thanks on the paw crossing. I know all will be well! See you and the KTSS soon.  Then we party hearty in the big apple. WOO HOO! ~~Mannie

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324, +4 313

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324, +4 313, +6.5 250

250 @ +6.5. YAY!! Back to yellow! :-D

Hi Ann - thanks! I hope so too. Paws crossed. and yupp: he will look mighty darn funny without all that belly fur. :? :?

I see a need for a massage.... See you guys soon!! ~~ Mannie

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324, +4 313, +6.5 250

We'll be keeping fingers, toes and paws crossed here for a smooth vetty visit and we hope everything goes smoothly.

Hey Mannie, i had an ultrasound too a few weeks ago, but they put me to sleep for it....i woke up with a shaved belly!!!!! I looks funny but it sure does help to keep me cool when its hot out! Maybe we can start a new shaved belly fad......whatdya thinks??

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +2 324, +4 313, +6.5 250

Oh gosh, I better go back and read why Mannie is having U/S today, I've missed a lot! Regardless, sending good U/S vines his way, and hoping he feels better soon! After all, there's an OTJ party tonight! Muffin would like to attend, to meet Salem, and provide an "in-fur" welcome to the Falls!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US resu

Hey everybody!! it 's me! MANNIEEEEEEEEEE! I IS home now, and I IS FINE SWEET!!!! But guess what!! They shaved my belly! @-) all my fur is gone.   I was so mad.... :-x but ya know that lady with that wand thingie was soooooooooooooooooo nice!  She kept giving me scrithces and stuff and rubbing my chin and stuff. She even gave me a tummy massage. ;-) ;-) She says I did good! well silly vetty -of course I did good. This is me, the Manster. :-D :-D ok one thing though.... I really smell bad, and there is this goo on my belly, well a little. HELP! I need the KTSS!!! see you guys soon?, 'K? ~~ Mannie pssttt.... party time soon! I am so ready......

US RESULTS: Hi everybody! Mannie passed! WOO HOO! There was no cranial mass, the shAdows were apparently fatty tissue and the positioning of the aortic arch. His heart appears to be normal and it position normal within his chest cavity for a 15 year old cat. Pancreas was normal, Stomach was normal. Her opinion was that, based on BW and the Xray and what is now that he had some sort of obstruction that h ehas sine passed - a hairball maybe. The intestinal track looks good. a few nodes, but they are fatty in nature and not of a concern. The liver is enlarged, expected dimensions for a diabetic. they did however find a mass on his liver. It is impossible to tell what exactly it is without an aspirate or surgery. There are three options in dealing with this: 1) aspirate, 2) followup U/S in 3/4 months to see if it has changed, 3) BW re-eval in 6 months to see the the liver values have changed. Right now they are all normal. I have opted to wait and see. I just can't see putting him though the anesthesia and the surgery on what is so much of an uncertainty. So there ya be: He was a good boy, and is ever so glad to be home! For now: THE NANNER KING IS FINE dancing_cat dancing_cat dancing_cat

336 at +9. Now if he can just do something abut that BG! :?

Hi Anne - long story there - it is summarized in his profile. We had appetite issues which led to a SR panel which led to xrays which led to a US since they "found things". In the meantime he as Dx'd with Giardia, which IMHO, is the cause of the appy stuff... all in all: back to being Mannie.
Muffins!!!! You gots to come to the party - I will picks you up, "k? Wait for em in the window. and uhhhh..... don't look at my belly. it's kinda weird now... ~~ Mannie

Hi Tracy - everything went very well. He is so glad to be home: camped out on his nanners.

LEO! DUDE! They shaved me too! My whole belly dude!   I like that idea: n ew club: Shaved Belly Group. WOO HoooO! We are charter members. see you at Salem's party!! ~~ Mannie

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Hi Michelle, what great news! Mannie is fine! dancing_cat dancing_cat I don't blame you, as he's feeling good so why not do the follow-up as your Vet suggested in several months unless his Labs change or something. She didn't seem to think it urgent. He's feeling good and still CPC champion. So happy for you and Mannie. It has to big relief for you.

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Oh what a relief! I've been hanging around waiting for the results. Just the liver thing, but i think you are wise to wait!

dancing_cat.gif
We is all dancing for JOY!!!! Hey turn around, we is here already. OK the nanner bed is all ready and we will have the goo and vetty smell off you in no time. You can't smell like THAT for the party! -- Tess

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Oh Michelle, I so happy to hear Mannie 'passed' his U/S exam! What a relief. And oh dear on the shaved belly! Although it's a nice way to get some good belly rubs right on the skin.
Cappi (BigMac's sis) also has a shaved belly so she understands that naked and weird feeling. LOL! (Her results showed no heart disease.)

We were worried about you big guy... masses and blobs and stuff... So very relieved that much of his problems probably were due to a hairball and Giardia, which is bad enough. I hope the liver irregularity is very minor and doesn't cause any problems in the future. Especially since right now his values are good. I find that very encouraging. Sometimes the B/W will show elevated liver enzymes before other symptoms are noticed so if his blood work looks normal, I'd take that as a really good sign. You always take very good care of him and I'm sure will be aware of anything that needs attention later on.

Hugs!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Wohoo on passing your US exam Mannie! This is another great reason to celebrate. Enjoy the party!!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Oh Michelle, that is the best news ever! As for the liver, I would opt to wait also. If the doctor thought it was anything urgent, you wouldn't have had the choices you did.
Ewww, goo belly

YAY MANNIE :RAHCAT dancing_cat flip_cat

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

WOOT! WOOT! The nanner king is back and healthy, if not sporting a new summer hair cut. Maybe he and Leo can start a new fashion. I'm so happy for the results. Big sigh of relief for you. :YMHUG:

Mannie - I'm heading out to the back yard to pick some rosemary and lavender. We gots lots of lavender back there. I'm gonna hop in the car soon and speed down the I5. Hope the border wait is short.

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

Michelle, I'm so sorry, I missed some visits in the past few days and didn't know all of what poor Mannie was going through. The poor thing has been through a lot, and I do think the stress has a lot to do with BGs, I know it is for Daphne.

So wonderful to read the report. I would also do the same, I hate to put them through anything that isn't an emergency, or something they know for sure. In this case, I'm sure the next visit with another US in 3 to 4 months sounds like a good choice.

Hope Mannie's BG comes down for you soon.
Have a great night!

Re: 7/13 Mannie AMPS 284, +4 313, +6.5 250, +9 336 - US RESU

I am so relieved to hear this good news! I think that you are doing the right thing by waiting to see how he does, and re-evaluating later on to see if there is any change in the liver status. That sound you hear is everyone in Lantus Land exhaling with relief at the same time. Bear Man always liked the nekked tummy look. Now Mannie is really his twin.

Linda and Bear Man said:
Bear Man always liked the nekked tummy look. Now Mannie is really his twin.

Hi Barb - no worries! I didn't want to make a big deal of it, as well - he's the same kitty no matter what he has going on. He takes all in stride - alot to be learned from this guy. And thanks - I think it is the right choice for him too! and thanks on the numbers - I hope he does too!

Hi CD - MANY THANKS!! me too. what a relief. Funny - I did give him the belly rubs!  oh yeah, underneath I was too. I so agree on the liver stuff - his values are good, so maybe this is just an abnormality for him. Guess we will know in a few months. and yes - we are all taking the normal liver values as a good sign - vet mentioned that several times, so I feel good about what we have decided to do. and thanks on the last - I try....

Hi Ann - SO AGREED!!! WOO HOO, and love that dancing cat you posted. Cool! yupp - just the liver thing, and I think so too: wait.

Hi Ann, and Maggie - it is great news . My regular vet was very happy too! She agreed too on the wait. There was no immediate worry so that we will do. and many thanks! it is a huge relief for me.

Re: 7/13 Mannie PMPS 290, +2 274, +3.5 235 - US RESULTS

Great news!!! So glad Mannie's insides have checked out fine! I agree with the watchful waiting, doesn't sound like any need for invasive testing. Just tell Mannie his shaved belly is the latest in feline air conditioning so he can stay a cool kitty in this hot weather!

I'm sorry to get here so late but I am absolutely thrilled with the news for Mannie. I think you are so smart to just check his liver values in a few months. This is the best news and what we've all been praying for! I heard an enormous sigh of relief from the PNW today!

Great pics of the little guy who is growing so fast!
