Thank you for the visits I missed last night, Georgia, Tamara, Roni, and Anne & Zener, thanks for the cute pic of the kitty with the paw prints or poo. I wish it were poo :-D instead of paw prints.

~O) ~O) a little high again for Maggie, but she did come down to blue! :-D It would seem she needs an increase of a drop, but I believe the new meter is reading higher. I am using it to show my Vet her ss with the new meter/new strips and the difference in the numbers, as he just started a new pet pwner on home testing. I think it may be helpful since he follows Mags closely. I may just have to ditch it and use the Relion Confirm as my prime! Maggie was very vocal last night and did a CPC of her overnight food. I gave Miralax, but still no poo. It's very unusual for Mags to be so constipated. Hopefully today we'll see some action. Thanks Anne & Zener on the dosage. Yesterday's weather was so humid and I believe some of the same for today, not as bad as some of your weather though, so no complaints here. Walmart today for Relion Confirm strips, Did I read where some of you order these strips thru ADW?

Maggie's doing fine in the (mostly) blues, and she almost made it to green yesterday!

Isn't it annoying and frustrating how meters read differently? I have three meters and they all give different results, not to mention you can test the same drop of blood twice and get a difference. I think we just need to be aware of the peculiarities of whichever meter and be flexible - if a cat is well regulated but can't seem to stay in the green maybe the meter is testing a bit high, etc. Honestly, you'd think they could build a better glucose meter but with the numbers of diabetic people skyrocketing and the meter industry booming I'm sure it'll happen.

WOW on that amps, but the +3 is down. Interesting on the meter. It sounds so familiar with hat I went through when USDiagnostics changed theirs, brought out a new one. Readings were so much higher... Enough to drive one crazy! I wish you luck, with whatever you decide to do on the meters.

Good luck too on the poo thing... come on Miralax: work!

bummer on the humidity! We have that wodnerful marine layer this morning. Sure hope it clears soon. Enjoy your day today. Hope you can get a walk in. enjoy that strips shopping. Hmmmmm - not sure on the ADW availability....

Hi Camille, thanks for stopping by and yes, frustrating, especially when they change a meter/update it.

Michelle, yes hard to exercise with the humidity. So far Miralax is not working for Maggie. May need to try another remedy or hopefully not a Vetty visit.

ADW has an Arkray meter and strips that is like the relion and I think you can use them interchangeably. I believe it was Christie (& Willie) who posted about these months ago. She hasn't been on the board regularly anymore, but you might PM her and get the info, if someone else doesn't remember.

I hope it is just the new meter giving these higher numbers. Maggie is so well regulated , it has to be the meter!

The Relion meters are made for Walmart by Arkray. The Confirm and Mini use the same strips and you can get them from ADW as the Arkray Glucocard 01 strips. The other Relion meter is the Ultima and that uses the Arkray Vital strips. The Ultima uses a slightly larger drop of blood (0.5-µL compared to 0.3-µL), but the strips are quite a bit cheaper.

I had to :lol: :lol: at the poop vines being sent to Maggie!! We'll send some poop vines to her as well.

Hi everyone and thanks for all the visits. I went to Walmart and bought some strips plus did some dilly dally in another store.

Roni, yes yuck on the humidity although it's overcast today and no sun, so it doesn't feel quite so hot. We actually had sprinkles. I can't quite call it a shower.

Anne & Zener, thanks on the Arkay meter info. I do remember Christie posting some time ago about the strips. It's nice they can be bought both local and online.

Hi Ann & Tess, thank you; that answers my question on the strips. I really like the Relion Confirm in that it swipes a small drop blood.

Hi Tracy and Leo, yes, we loved the poop vines, too! :lol: I think it is the new AT giving wonky or high numbers hopefully. This weekend I'll do solely the hm.

:-D Back to a Maggie number hopefully! I think Mags may be going to Vetty next week. She still hasn't poo'd, and I keep adding Miralax, and she's so lethargic lately sleeping the day away. Of course, I know cats sleep what 21 hours out of 24, but something is amiss here!

C'mon Maggie...you don't want to go to the vetty over a little poo, do you???

We switched to the Vital recently. I love the price of strips...I get them through American Diabetes Wholesale. I used to use the Confirm, and I did like that one a lot, too, but was swayed by how inexpensive the Vital strips are. It does take a bit more blood than the Confirm, but it's not outrageous.

I'm adding poop vines fo Maggie (who ever thought I'd be saying THAT on a Friday night :lol: !)! Have a great evening!!

Hi Ann, sorry for the late visit. I'll send some poop vines also, we have to do what we can right? I use the ReLion meter from Walmart too. Great PM surf going!

I guess most people are already asleep, so I hope your Sat. is a good one and Maggie starts to do whats needed in the poo department.
 
Poor Maggie! Hopefully it is the constipation causing her numbers to be higher. So not Maggie....what is it with these girls.

I hope she's better soon. And glad you got out some. Sounds like the Relion might be a good idea.
