Macho ate like a king George 4 or Henry the VIII unfortunately i saw his number getting low and i :nailbiting: and gave him emergency food one spoon of each can 9 lives and medleys. So todays number is 364 sugar cubes.:oops:
He is definitely not hungry he is laying his bulky belly and licking himself stuffed.

see you in 2 hours i'm going to eat my breakfast now :cat: because i'm hungry.

The website goes down like that for maintenance but it was down for a long time last night.
You are doing a great job looking after Macho. What a lucky boy he is to have you. And I’m so glad your brother is helping you as well.

Did he eat for you before the insulin dose this morning?

Hello Bron,

I am not sure but most likely. I learned about the fat king because my brothers mentioned to me.

Macho +2 is 272. I'll be back at +5 or +6.

Hi Clara, that’s quite a drop at +2. I would test again at +4 in case he drops more quickly. When the + 2 is lower than the preshot BG, that can mean it is going to be an active cycle (drop lower) so we suggest testing again a couple of hours later to catch any drops before it drops too low. Does that make sense?
I would also give him a small snack to eat now to slow any drop. Just a couple of teaspoons of low carb wet food.

Good morning Clara. I tried to post last night but as you know the site was down. Macho had a good night. If he drops into the 60’s I think for now it’s a good dea to give mid carbs. Below that high carbs. He is not used to these good numbers so will bounce high but that’s ok. It’s better to be too high than too low.

Ups, i forgot to post it and i was cleaning his litter box :facepalm::cat: why sticks so much? i have a bottle of frebreze i have to cover my noise and stop breathing for a second and do it quick.
 
He’s doing fine. You do not need to test again until pmps. He will pee less as his numbers stay more and more in normal bg numbers. Cat urine is very concentrated and smelly when a cat has good kidneys. What kind of litter do you use?

You can add to your subject. So add +4 there as well as pmps.

@Garciacat I’ve just seen you gave the 3.25 units. Is that correct?
Because the preshot was the lowest you have shot, you will need to be testing very frequently this cycle to see the BG doesn’t drop too much.
Can you get a +1 and a +2 so we can see what is happening and post the result straight away please Clara?
Then we can decide how often to test after that.:)

yes. Ill keep that in mind. sorry i just wanted to make sure came 60 and the 95. i will test him right now it +2 pmps.

I’m just now seeing this. You need to feed some food that is at least 15% carbs. If you don’t have any you can add a teaspoon of honey to some food. Then check at +3. Tag me with that number. The insulin will start to work now so he could go a lot lower without carbs.

She actually shot when the BG was 95 (it’s just not on the SS yet, but don’t want to worry her with that atm) so the +2 is a drop of 11, so we need to boost the BG for the onset of the insulin and because it is so early in the cycle.

yes, I did give him one spoon of honey. He don't like honey alone so i trick him and give him a little more food from a fresh can and he ate it:bighug: what number he should be? I'm with my brother we put an alarm for 11
 
We need to get him around 100 and to be able to stay up without food. Right now the food is keeping him safe. I will be able to give you a better idea after the next few tests.

Cats often go lower at night. Not very good for us humans. Until we have a better idea of how Macho reacts to carbs if his amps or pmps is under 150, it’s important that you post and ask for help so you don’t need to stay up so late. He’s had a few low numbers on this dose s we might need to lower his dose but let’s see.

Good. I will check back in an hour. If Macho is the same or higher he will be able to stop testing.
In the morning if lower than 150, post for help. One thing we do at that point is to not feed and test again in 20-30 minutes to see if the bg goes up.
 
Clara, you are doing such a good job taking care of Macho. Thank your brother for me for being a good big brother and helping. What is his name?
