Well we are home and that was stressful even though I work there, I supervised his dental :lol: :lol: :lol: his teeth were all OK which I expected
I held him while he woke up he was so sweet I knew his was almost awake when he looked up at me with those not fully awake eyes but he gave me a kiss he loves to lick me so I knew he was almost himself :mrgreen:
Bloodwork on the other hand ended up being a stressful event since the girl I that was doing Lab today brought his CBC results to me while we waited, anyway it said his HCT was only 17 :shock: :shock: :shock: and PLT count was over 2200 well my vet said thats not right(we had this machine repaired in Spring for HCT issues, he looked at Do Lou again who showed no clinical signs of being this low we ran it again on the machine all the while I had invaded my LAB even though its my off day ( I am head lab tech) and ran a manual HCT which is very accurate it was 38 :shock: OK well this is normal. Lab results came out again still saying he was low so we have another CBC machine older but you can always depend on it the only reason we have the more advanced one is it breaks down the CBC more and you get more details. Well on the older machine all the while I had been there long enough I just went ahead and finished his complete panel as well
The end result was everything was normal chemistry other then glu and chol, CBC (older machine) all normal and T4 was normal .
His glucose on this machine was high 364(74-159) but I expected that and his CHOL was also high 329(range is 65-225)
I would have been home way sooner had we not had the machine issues so now I called the company and it will have to go in for repair again :roll: we do so much bloodwork where I work and you should be able to depend on your LAB machines but this is something people just do not realize that they can be inaccurate sometimes its when you work with them regular and you see something that just does not add up. Or the patient does not have the clinical signs anyway its just irritating this machine I just do not like it and never have but I am not the one buying them.
He was so glad to be home he was 257 @ +5ish which is roughly about the time I took it upon arrival will be keeping a close eye on him for a while I am off to coffee up with him something I did not have time for this morning he has eaten a small meal as well hoping he keeps it down. He is to be on abs for 5 days clavamox starting in the morning
