Yesterday was job hunting day! Hopefully out of the applications I put in, I get some good news. Sunday paper should have some listings where I can actually go apply in person! But for now, being home right now is kind of like the vacation I never got. I'm in a new place and it feels nice!

Tyler is doing great! Marla on the other hand has had to succumb to the hierarchy of Turd the cat, who has been beating her on a regular basis. He has pushed her around so much that she will not eat at her bowl. Turd eats alone and Tyler & Marla's bowl are in a separate room. Marla will not eat until Tyler is finished, she only will eat out of his bowl, after he walks away. I thought she was sick for about 36 hours until I caught on. I tried putting her food far from the other kitties and she just sniffs it and tries to cover it. But once Tyler walks away she goes to investigate what is left and I dump her food in it and she eats it... weirdness... any idea how to remedy this?

Poor Marla. Give her some extra scritches from us. It sounds like she is down on her confidence.
All I can think of is, maybe she could eat in a separate room by herself, like a bathroom maybe, or up on a counter where the other cats aren't allowed, only her. I wish you luck with figuring something out for her. And also luck with finding a job you like.

we have 3 cats and i have to feed each of them in a separate room. we got 2 kittens a year ago and were trying to feed them near each other, but it was so obviously stressful to them. the kittens gobbled every bit down immediately while my 5 yr old cat was completely put off and wouldn't have gotten anything to eat. i read up on having new cats in the house and one of the suggestions was to feed cats separately. it's really helped us.
