I hope you guys had a great day eysteday. Nicholas and I took advantage of better weather east of here, and headed off for a river adventure, What fun it all was! I so love the time with him, he is so appreciative of all that he sees. He can spend hours just playing with a few sticks, a small water flow, and sand at rivers edge. What joys to be found in simple pleasures! This is what I wrote in last night's post: "Good evening everyone! PHEW! What alonggggggggggg, but glorious day. Nichoals and I had such a great time. SO good that we were late in getting back home. I decided to head on out on Highway 2 and visit some of Nicholas's and my favorite places. We did Gold Bar river access to the Skykomish River first if only becasue the sun was there at the time. We pretty much had the place to ourselves until a couple of rafters showed up around noon. Little guy had a great time, just being a little guy. We did LOTS of sand and rocks and water play today, and ate ton of thimbleberries. I didn't realize that spot grew those, so it was a nice find. We found alot of them. Lunch was on the river, on a boulder hand picked by Nicholas. I had to laugh - it took him forever to find the one he wanted.  Napping followed shortly after that. He asked to head up to Skykomish where he could see the trains, and while enroute Sleep took over. DUH! He was very busty at the river. While he napped I went up to Beckler River, hung out there for a few so he could get some nap time in, and I could visit a place I really like... it was a nice way to spend 30 minutes or so. Very pretty there today. We went to Skykomish on the way home. It is a very small RR town nestled in the mountains. Of course, none went by ... he was OK with it,a s some were parked on the tracks, and those were just as good. Better luck with the moving trains next time. Interesting to me that he likes that town as well as he does. It was along day, but a fun one. I almost missed the connection with his dad, running behind, and bad traffic out of Monroe. oh well, all worked out OK, little guy had an fantastic day. "major good" as he would say. :-D   ' Here are the Picassa links: Skykomish River @ the Big Eddy, Beckler River, and Waiting for the Trains.... Skykomish The Skykomish River photo album contains alot of back seat shots of Nicholas while we were on the road. It is anon-stop monolog back there complete with all sort of facial expressions. I thought it would be fun to try and capture some of what goes on back there. The last three I took without realizing what he was doing. He had found a box of Kleenexes in the back seat ad decided to pull them out one by one... LOL! It reminded me of Lola - hmmmmm...new partners in crime?

Kitties continue to be the cure adorable "you did what" kitties that they are. NORMALCY in MusketeerVille.   Nicholas loves to do the dishes when he's done with breffis, so I usually let him. I'll prop him up on the counter, turn the water on, and let him play and pretend to wash. it's great fun for him. Well.... yesterday Lola decided he needed help. She had heard the water running and came as fast as she could. For once I had my camera: Faucet Buddies Last bight I kept hearing this rustling sound, couldn't quite figure out what it was, and it stopped as soon as it started. Come to find out, Lola had somehow found my stash of plastic bags, drug them out, and had them all scattered down the hall, down the steps to the basement, and into the downstairs room. sheshhhh... what a mess, but it sure looks like she had fun.   Elsa and Bug were MIA. I suspect they didn't want to be even 1% associated with that. Smart kitties!

Have a great day everyone! Nicholas and I are off to the pool this morning: more wet fun!  :-D We hope for good weather. After all there are still all those berries there on the pool trails that need to be picked, and eaten. I will try and get to condos when I can.

KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!

Awwww faucet buddies! Love it! Looks like you, Nicholas, and your sweet kitties are having so much fun with your various adventures this week, Michelle :-D

Enjoy your swim day and berries!

I'm placing an order for three pizzas! I'd like bbq chips, regular and sour cream & onion flavors! Think Paw Prints Pizza can handle that?

Hi Michelle. I enjoy reading your LOOSE LIPS condo each day. You are building so many great memories for Nicholas while teaching him to take the time to enjoy life and that Mother Nature has so many wonders just waiting to be discovered. I'm sure he'll remember searching for that "lunch rock" the rest of his life.

Glad the kitties are doing well. Have a great day Michelle.

Hi Michelle,

Well it is obvious that Lola will be the wild child of your bunch! :-D Love the bond that she and Nicholas have. Faucet buddies sounds right! You all must be worn out at the end the day. Your DS & DIL must appreicate that Nicholas sleeps good after a day with you!

Have another day with your sunshine guy :-D

Awesome dish washing pics! That Lola is such a sweet girl. She and Turnup should swap notes on faucet lurking. Too cute on Nicholas too. Beautiful scenery and YAY for trains. Have a wonderful day Michelle!!

HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It was a swim day for Nicholas and I. We had a few issues there today, with pool temps being off, chlorine levels being off, but despite all that we did ok. There were some olde kids there today, and he really did enjoy playing with them. What with the older kids the pool was a nuthouse. omg. i know that pools monitor hot tub temps, chlorine levels.... but.... that hot tub was incredibly hot, even the little guy said it was too warm. So it really affected what he would do today. I heard alot of "big pool please toady, it's not hot". don't blame him one bit. Chlorine level seems off the charts too. it's never bothered him or me before, now it does. It really bothered both out eyes. Oh well there too. We did what we could today, 7 weeks and counting and hopefully things will be back to normal. despite the huge mass of people, he managed to have some fun. The bigger kids love the sides, so he spent alot of time just doing those, all with a big huge smile on his face. All good I think. I had to smile - we were on the trail there and he stops and says "Stop Grammie, I need to tell you something. so i did and asked him what's up, and he says "I had a major good time today in the pool!", and then gave me a hug.I did too little man, I did too.

It was been interesting day here yesterday. I went to fill up the car early in the morning before I went to get Nicholas, and left the gas cap at the station. lmao, what a dummie! I went back after I realized I'd done that, 10 minutes, and of course it was gone. oh well, got a new one last night: $38! shessh! expensive little bugger.

HI John - sorry I missed your post earlier. THX so much! And yes, that is the goal: "teaching him to take the time to enjoy life and that Mother Nature has so many wonders just waiting to be discovered" Well said! We talk about that stuff all the time. I think you may be right on that lunch rock. I have discovered that he does not forget these things, has remembered assimilate searches from months ago. THX too on today - it was a good one. :-D

Hi Jane - oh yes - that she is. Wild child says it well. Me too on the bond that is forming with Lola and Nicholas - it is so great! And yes: major worn out. I have him three days in a row and by the end of the third day I am toast....  Yes too on DD and DSIL! They do! :-D

Hi Melissa - THX on the pics - that was fun, we have had two days in a row now with that. It is great. Those two are becoming a team. Thanks on the rest - yesterday was awesome, today just as good. :-D :-D

LOL....I need my daily Lola fix! I don't blame Bug and Elsa for staying invisible either....they are smart ones, aren't they??

Morning Michelle, just catchup with all of you while you're in REM sleep. Wow, what a great day for you and Nicholas. You really saw a lot and visited many places, and Nicholas caugh a nap in between.
  on Lola and the plastic bags. My GA kitty used to try and eat the plastic bags. :o Great pics of Nicholas and lola with the water drinking. She is a live wire, so funny! :-D
Have a great sleep.

Morning Amy ~O) oh yes, that they are!

Morning Ann ~O) WOW, and early bird or night owl you are. Yupp at that time i was in a deep sleep. :-D It was a great river trip this time alot for Nicholas to see and do. Yesterday was good too, a bit typical for a swim day, but good. My DD has a kitty that LOVES plastic bags too, he will eat holes in them, so they have to make sure none are left out. crazy huh! THX on the pics, and I couldn't agree more on Lola: live wire is a good description.
