Im so sorry for the late daily update.
Latte is having a real difficult time adjusting to "the way she is" during the a.m.'s.
She spends hours crying, trying to sit up, and squirm. She is also peeing and drinking a lot during this time - requiring assistance and constant changing of pee pads.

The only difference today is that she was more agitated this a.m. about not being able to get up. The crying lasted until about 1pm. She huffed/puffed a lot, and continued with those eyes of confusion....looking at me like she wanted help, but every time I would touch her she would meow louder, growl, huff, whatever. By 1pm we were both thuroughly exhausted. :YMSIGH:

Afternoons are a little more quiet, as are evenings somewhat. Though she often gets a tad grouchy in the pm.

I did wake to her sitting partially up/propped by a fleece blanket rolled up. She sat up dozens of times this a.m. on her own and stayed in that position for multiple minutes at a time. She did not get any closer to getting her back legs under her than any other day. She is doing a good job of pushing her water bowl away with her nose when she is done or does not want it. She uses her paws to try and pull the fleece it is sitting on toward her when she wants more. She likes to use her paw on my hand for leverage to sit up sometimes. I think thats clever. Still cleaning, batting at strings, purring, etc.

She ate great....3/4 jar baby food, 1 pouch of wellness juice, half dozen treats, 1 tbsp yogurt, small strip chicken, AND she ate approx 1/3 can off ff straight from the can. She also drank 3/4 cup water/milk combo. This was all by noonish, without any major drops to encourage the hunger or thirst. I hope she can eat as well this evening.

latte has an appt for acupunture tomorrow at 10:30am. This will be with her original vet at the same clinic she goes to now. So she is VERY familiar with Latte. Its questionable if she will 'tolerate' it. But we wont see until we try. They suggest a minimum of 3 appts, 1 week apart. I understand this, but she really needs a miracle at this point. Every day like this is one day closer to some complication (uti, atrophy, bed sores, dehydration, ketones, etc). I have a hard time seeing her like this for another three weeks, ya know. They are going to shave her side while we are there because there is some urine that has gotten in that area where she lays. They will also check for bed sores.

Im considering raising her insulin a little sooner than the 6 cycles. She seems to have range of 200-mid/high 400's. Her urine smells like it did when she had an infection. Ketone check today off fresh puddle on pee pad was negative.

I had another dream during my nap...Amy and I were out on my patio, and latte stumbled out there and sat right next to us for about 1 minute before she fell over into a laying position on her side. But she didnt seem to mind. She was happy to be out there with us.

Really hoping the acupuncture helps Latte tomorrow. Even a tiny bit of relief would be encouraging. Glad she ate today, she needs that sustenance to continue her fight.

Thinking of you as you struggle with these difficult days.

Listen, This Girl is Trying! I still feel she will regain some strength & have faith in the power of this board & Healing powers-
SENDING GIANT GREEN VINES TO LATTE'S BACK & LEGS--AND TO HER WHOLE BODY--COME ON GOOD GIRL!!

I like that dream,, I wonder if she didn't have it too..
She is such a fighter. And so clever too. Keep on Keeping On, Latte girl. I'm cheering for ya.

Good luck tomorrow with the acupunture appointment and the shaving and all. I hope it helps her tremondously and makes her feel better being shaved and clean to boot.

You are such a good mom, Carolyn.. huhhh (big sigh :-D ) I hope you give yourself some nice treats too, tonight. Like some ice cream and a nice sunset. Or a good movie with Latte snuggled next to you and purring :-D Blessing to you.

I am sending continued prayers for a miracle. And who knows, maybe the acupuncture will be the beginning of that miracle. You and Latte are very couragous and you deserve a break. Latte is trying so hard and I know how much it hurts you to see her like this. Sending you great big ((((((HUGS))))))

Latte is one brave kitty and she is working hard to get better. Carolyn, you are supermamabean! I do so hope that the acupuncture will be a help and that those back legs will respond to the treatment. We so want everything to be right for both of you. Sending lots of healing vines, snowflakes, good thoughts, prayers, and hugs your way,

Ella & Stu

Good that she is eating well...at least today. Hope she has something of note tonight.
It's really amazing to hear you talk about the things she does. She does sound frustrated though.
Thinking about any one of us in the same position. But at least we would understand things. She is really doing so well considering the fact that she doesn't know any of what we all know.
Latte needs to believe that she will get better one day soon. Hope the acupuncture helps tomorrow.
You are so wonderful Carolyn. That sounds like an exhausting morning...yuo are doing such a great job!

Glad to hear that Latte is eating and drinking today...hope the acupuncture helps. I know you want your miracle and I'm hoping that it happens soon.
Continued prayers and vines coming your way.

SO great to read that she is eating and drinking well, and trying to be more mobile. She has a strong will. I hope that the acupuncture helps her. I have a friend who is looking at it for one of her cats, for pain relief, as she has read that it can help. Good luck - you and Latte are in our thoughts always. many healing vines from Mannie.
