I’m not sure if it’s just a fluke or if withholding food at +8 has actually made this much difference. I'm really nervous since he just headed straight down today but I will be home and able to stay up with him tonight so I shot his full dose :nailbiting:

Got nervous at +1 and added a tiny bit of Purina DM with the most of the gravy to his leftover food from PM shot time with a tablespoon of raw. He inhaled it and remembered the sound of the can and came running lol
I hope I didn’t jump in too soon

Gave him 4 Greenies at +2 and a 1/2 tablespoon or raw mixed with 1/2 tablespoon of DM at +3 to try to keep him surfing at these numbers. Hope this is ok, kinda going with my gut and everything I’ve read

Looks like he was clearing the bounce from the greens and was therefore heading lower. Some cats nadir at the end of the cycle when clearing bounces.

You want to go easy on the carbs. The idea is to get him to spend as much time in green as possible. It's okay to mix a little MC to LC to increase the carb% a bit to slow drops, but you don't want to give him carbs unless he is diving or dropping too low. Lantus is very good at giving flat cycles when you shoot low.

Greenies are high carb and you want to avoid feeding them (and other high carb treats and dry food) because they stay in the system longer than high carb wet food or honey.

Ok, the straight line down all day made me nervous. That was the first full dose on lower numbers so I chickened out and got ahead of myself. Next time I will hold off and see how he does on his own
