Yesterday's Condo

Sorry for another late condo. This morning was a tough one and I'm just now able to type. I've been having a lot of pain from the arthritis in my fingers, and have been unable to get in for a cortisone shot for the worst offenders. When I woke up this morning, every joint in my body and most of my muscles were SCREAMING. I figure all the unaccustomed weight distribution/movements have finally taken their toll. It was agony getting out of bed and down the stairs, and it took me forever to get the food and meds ready for the kitties - I couldn't grip the spoon tight enough and kept dropping it, and couldn't get the gelcaps open to sprinkle the contents, etc. Harvey tried to help by circling my feet and getting in my way as much as possible. When I finally had them all taken care of, Harvey decided to do the second half of a scarf and barf all over the dining area. Mark heard me crying and came and cleaned it up, bless him. I got myself fed so I could take drugs, then I parked in the recliner with my foot propped way up and stayed there, watching the NASCAR Nationwide race and dozing for almost three hours. When it was over, the meds had kicked in and I was able to at least function somewhat. Right now the drugs are wearing off, but I won't take more until dinner, as I know what happens when I take them on an empty stomach.

Lucky for me, Cinco has been surfing blue today. For some reason he was really restless this afternoon, meowing and going back and forth from the floor to the sofa cushions, to the back of the sofa and back down. He didn't seem to be in pain or anything, and I knew he wasn't low, so I have no idea what his problem was. I tried to talk him into coming over so I could pet him, but he wasn't buying. He finally settled down after an hour or so and snoozed in his favorite spot.

Sasha spent the day sleeping blissfully under the covers of my bed, right where I left her when I got up. I think she was very happy to not have to go anywhere (so was I) and was taking full advantage. The spoiled little princess even got breakfast in bed (my bed!), which is normally against my policy.

Minka sounds great today. She has a new favorite napping spot. There was an old desk chair I had brought home from my office years ago when we got all new ones that has been in Mark's office. Minka often naps there. After my surgery, Mark took the back off and brought it down so I could sit or kneel on it to scoot around the kitchen. There were a few problems with this plan, so he brought in his mechanic's stool (after much cleaning) from the garage, and that works better. The office chair got pushed into a corner of the dining area. Minka discovered it there two days ago, and I could almost hear her thinking: Here it is! I've been wondering what happened to my chair! Since then she's spent most of her time curled up on it! Too funny.

Well, this is about all my fingers can handle - this took me forever to type. Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:

Hi Tricia, I am so sorry you're in so much pain :YMHUG: :YMHUG: With all the running around you've had to do, it's no wonder, hope you had a nice relaxing afternoon. What a great guy you have there, coming to the rescue! And really glad to see Cinco surfing safely in blues, and that Sasha and Minka are doing well. Sorry about Harvey though. :YMHUG:

Re: 7/12 Cinco PMPS 124

WTH???? So does this mean that Cinco did go lower after that +6 and I should have checked him??? confused_cat Argh!

Thanks, Ruth. Reading back over my condo, it sounds like I'm whining and looking for sympathy. Really, I was just trying to convey how hard this is and why I'm not keeping up as well as I should with posting.

I tried another new food tonight. Authority Catfish. The boys loved it. I had a hard time keeping Harvey to several small servings (I did not want another scarf and barf). The girls, not so much. Minka sniffed it and walked away. She wanted nothing to do with it. Sasha ate a few bites and then moved away. I tried a couple times with both of them, then opened a can of Wellness Beef & Chicken. They each ate about a third of their serving. I think summer appys are the culprits for that. :YMSIGH:

Sorry I'm not doing a lot of posting on condos. Too hard to type. But I am reading them and including everyone in my thoughts and prayers!

Re: 7/12 Cinco PMPS 124

Always something exciting at your house! Poor Harvey and thanks to Mark for coming to the rescue. I'm glad Minka is well on the road to recovery and Sasha is doing well after her chemo. Too funny about her finding the long-lost chair. I'm sorry you've been in so much pain, that gets old really fast. I hope you can get in for the cortisone early next week. Big, gentle hugs to you!
Liz

Re: 7/12 Cinco PMPS 124

Lots of healing vines going out to you and your fur gang. :YMHUG: Neko tells me that arthritis is no fun.

At least Cinco is a good boy with the blues and I hope he keeps on surfing there tonight. The story of the long lost chair rings true here too. We "temporarily" brought out an old Ikea chair for a large dinner party and Neko has claimed it since so it hasn't been put away for over a year.

You asked yesterday in my condo about vacuuming Neko. I didn't word it right. Neko runs away at the first sign of the vacuum cleaner, probably shedding as she goes.

Yes, Liz, it's always something at my house. I'm not sure "exciting" is the right word for it, though!

Wendy, Neko's right. Arthritis stinks. I remember my mother's hands. She never complained, but we knew she was hurting when we would take her to the Commissary to grocery shop and we had to fill out the check for her. It amazes me now to think that all her doctor gave her was buffered aspirin! I took two 600mg Lodines (an NSAID like Motrin) and two Norcos and that just made the pain bearable. Sorry I misunderstood you. I was just fascinated to find someone that vacuumed their cat. As I said, I've seen it done at cat shows, but I could never imagine any of my kitties allowing me to do it to them! Your clarification makes much more sense.

Cinco dipped his toes in the lagoon, but it's kinda cool out tonight, so I guess he decided he'd stay on shore. The moon is quite beautiful. I hope the party doesn't go too late. Cinco needs to be awake for his 6:30 am shot!

I'm glad all the kitties are doing well, except for the scarf n barf. I'm glad Mark was around to help clean that up. I hope you're hands are a little better today. Hopefully you can get your shot soon.
