Yesterday's Condo
Sorry for another late condo. This morning was a tough one and I'm just now able to type. I've been having a lot of pain from the arthritis in my fingers, and have been unable to get in for a cortisone shot for the worst offenders. When I woke up this morning, every joint in my body and most of my muscles were SCREAMING. I figure all the unaccustomed weight distribution/movements have finally taken their toll. It was agony getting out of bed and down the stairs, and it took me forever to get the food and meds ready for the kitties - I couldn't grip the spoon tight enough and kept dropping it, and couldn't get the gelcaps open to sprinkle the contents, etc. Harvey tried to help by circling my feet and getting in my way as much as possible. When I finally had them all taken care of, Harvey decided to do the second half of a scarf and barf all over the dining area. Mark heard me crying and came and cleaned it up, bless him. I got myself fed so I could take drugs, then I parked in the recliner with my foot propped way up and stayed there, watching the NASCAR Nationwide race and dozing for almost three hours. When it was over, the meds had kicked in and I was able to at least function somewhat. Right now the drugs are wearing off, but I won't take more until dinner, as I know what happens when I take them on an empty stomach.
Lucky for me, Cinco has been surfing blue today. For some reason he was really restless this afternoon, meowing and going back and forth from the floor to the sofa cushions, to the back of the sofa and back down. He didn't seem to be in pain or anything, and I knew he wasn't low, so I have no idea what his problem was. I tried to talk him into coming over so I could pet him, but he wasn't buying. He finally settled down after an hour or so and snoozed in his favorite spot.
Sasha spent the day sleeping blissfully under the covers of my bed, right where I left her when I got up. I think she was very happy to not have to go anywhere (so was I) and was taking full advantage. The spoiled little princess even got breakfast in bed (my bed!), which is normally against my policy.
Minka sounds great today. She has a new favorite napping spot. There was an old desk chair I had brought home from my office years ago when we got all new ones that has been in Mark's office. Minka often naps there. After my surgery, Mark took the back off and brought it down so I could sit or kneel on it to scoot around the kitchen. There were a few problems with this plan, so he brought in his mechanic's stool (after much cleaning) from the garage, and that works better. The office chair got pushed into a corner of the dining area. Minka discovered it there two days ago, and I could almost hear her thinking: Here it is! I've been wondering what happened to my chair! Since then she's spent most of her time curled up on it! Too funny.
Well, this is about all my fingers can handle - this took me forever to type. Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG:
