Definitely moving in the right direction, Callie! :-D So I'm wondering if this is Cindy or Janet? I love mysteries. ;-)

This is Cindy! I'm taking care of Callie until Monday. She's living la dolce vida in my spare room. (Unfortunately only in one room, but she's mean to other cats, and Shiraz, my DCIN rescue is still settling in.)

I couldn't get a handle on any patterns looking at the SS! Trying for stability while I have her! Although, 3:30 AM and PM shot times are not my idea of stability.

Re: 7/12 Callie AMPS 310, +6 199

I took a look at the spreadsheet. One thing I notice is different doses in the AM and PM. That can cause weird numbers as the depot is always changing. Did you skip yesterday AM? Did you shoot 1.0u last night? You might want to note that in the dosing cells. You are a sweetheart for taking care of Callie! I hope all is going well with Shiraz. You're a sweetheart for fostering too. :-D

Shiraz isn't a foster, I'm keeping him! If you are on facebook, go to "Shiraz the Cat" to see how he's doing...

So, the story on the dosing: Back when I was treating Tritone with Levemir, a number of us had two different doses, as the insulin needs were less overnight for some cats. That seems to be frowned upon here in LL. I don't know Lantus, but understood it worked pretty much like lev.

Janet had Callie on an 11:30 AM and PM shot schedule. Yesterday morning Janet tested her around 9:30 AM, and she was at 69. I met them halfway and took Callie home - and she threw up during the car ride. She was 50 for her first test with me, plus she didn't eat at first, plus I couldn't really find any patterns to show what would happen if I shot the 50. (I have no problem shooting low numbers - with Tritone, since I knew her patterens so well, I could have totally shot that 50.) So I waited until she came up, and the result was that her AMPS was at 4:30 PM. My plan is to keep the dose at 1U, and cut the cycles short just a bit, to ease her back to a reasonable hour. So just now at

+10.5 256 shot 1U, so this becomes her new shot time.

Next, I'm hoping she'll be shootable at midnight-ish. Meanwhile, hopefully the depot is getting refilled, and we can achieve some stability, then ease the cycles back to 12 hours where they should be.

+3 317 As mentioned earlier, her PMPS was at 10.5

I think I see this pattern in her SS: each time there is a dose increase, one to several days go by, then she has a small run of double digits, then she bounces. Then they change the dose. I'm hoping by overlapping just slightly, to minimize the bounce. And to get her back to a reasonable hour for PS. If she is high enough at 12:30 AM, I'm going to shoot at 10.5 again.

Yuck on those stinky pinkys! Yep, we pretty much keep the same dose AM and PM. Good luck getting the shot time back to what you want. I wouldn't have shot that 50, given the situation. Lucky Shiraz!
