So many pinks and yellows lately. Won't you go back to the flatland lagoon, Buster? I'm wondering if his clicky foot is causing a bit of pain but he just doesn't show it? I dunno :YMSIGH:

 Shasta has a clicky foot, too. Hope Buster feels a bit better and gets himself back into the blues. It's hot enough outside...time to get yourself back into the blues for a little swimming and surfing. Have a good day, Tara.

Re: 7/12 Buster AMPS 223, +5 308 DRAT!

Was really hoping to go the other way today. Thanks to some info from Deborah & Shasta, I think I'm going to try some joint support for Buster. Ordered it up and can't wait for it to get here! Then, once I fix the AC in my Jeep, I will get Buster in to get his teef cleaned.

Re: 7/12 Buster AMPS 223, +5 308 DRAT!

We use Cosequin with our civie, Tillie. I found this comparison.

Dasuquin has extra ingredients (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables or ASU, and tea) and you have to get it from the vet. The cosequin really helped Tillie a lot. It did take a couple of weeks and we gave her a higher dose for about 4 weeks. Paws crossed for Buster.

Re: 7/12 Buster AMPS 223, +5 308 DRAT!

I ordered some Dasuquin from good ol' Amazon. I got impatient and since Deborah & Shasta are using it successfully I went with a known good. Someone else on the internet said they use Cod Liver Oil for this issue - is that bad for a diabetic cat?

Re: 7/12 Buster PMPS 350

I sure hope Buster gets back to business working the juice soon - he had such nice long stretches of blue & green just a month ago. These guys sure do keep us busy doing this sugar dance.

Re: 7/12 Buster PMPS 350

I sure hope Buster comes back down and I'm sorry he's in some sort of pain. Poor baby!

I've used cosequin and adequan with not alot of results. I steer away from products with soy as it can cause anemia in cats.

I will keep my fingers crossed that it will help him and numbers will come back down.

We got lots of rain...did you?

Re: 7/12 Buster PMPS 350

I dunno what's going on with his numbers. I'm going to try the joint support and I'm looking into getting a dental soon. Otherwise I guess we'll keep increasing. I don't want to get too carried away in case it is pain that's causing the inflated numbers, but then I don't want to let it get too far out of control, either. It's very disappointing to me, but I am trying to stay positive and tell myself, "it's a marathon not a race." We can get back on track, I know we can.

We may have gotten a sprinkle of rain. It seems to be raining everywhere but here! Have to help a friend move tomorrow so I hope it isn't so sticky in the morning - ick!

Hi Tara!
I hope the joint meds will work, and makes Buster better.
I love your positive thinking and "it's a marathon not a race".
I'll make it my mantra too!!
Thank you!

Time to clear out of pinksville Buster!

Neko is on fish oil and a glucosomine product available in Canada. The IM vetty she saw at Colorado State U recommended Cosequin and I'm actually giving that to the civie for his FLUTD. I've had 2 vets recommend fish oil for arthritis. Once that some people is Nordic Naturals. I use a product by Ascenta which is available in pet stores and vitamins stores here. I used to have a very arthritic kitty and I did notice a difference with the fish oil, glucosomine and he eventually went onto our equivalent to the Adequan (called Cartrophen here), which also helped. BTW, his name was Buster too.
