Well I'm not holding my breath any more. Ravan is not ready for even a small reduction. His BG is going up . I know he's still doing good, but I really don't want him going over 100. After 3 weeks in Green I'm sad to see the Blue! (I'm spoiled)
If he continues to go up this evening I'll go back to a tiny bit more insulin. I'm using Relion Syringes now & .5 units is .66 with calipers so I'll increase to .80 with the calipers. I hope that dose regulates him to stay below 100.

Alice did amazingly great in the car & at the Vets yesterday! Tracy (the Tech) buzzed all her matts off while I held her. Alice was very calm & didn't put up a fuss at all! Not a peep! I wish Ravan & Peggy Sue were that calm!

Ravan goes this evening to get his BP checked & maybe a blood panel done. I'm a bit worried about his Kidneys. He's still not quite himself. Maybe from the BP meds but I want to make sure nothing else is going on.

Peggy Sue is still eating OK but her mouth is really a mess! Once again I'm not sure what to do. My Vet doesn't have a dental xray ! I was surprised to find that out. I just assumed he did. Apparently a lot of Vets don't. With her teeth being absorbed I know it's important to get X rays.

The only place I found that specializes in dental is north of me nearly an hour away & it would cost over $2,000. I am so stressed out over this! Still not sure what I'll do.

I am happy Alice had a good vet visit!

Sending vines for Ravan's visit.

I am sorry your vet doesn't have an xray. I didn't even know they would do a dental without doing an xray. The $$ for dentals is just crazy. With the previsit check up, blood work and 6 teeth pulled for Small Kitty, it was about $1,800. Not cool! I hope you can get Peggy Sue in for the dental somewhere to help her out.

Ravan, what are you doing in blue?! :bighug: I know that is disappointing.

I'm so glad to hear that Alice was good for you on the way to and at the vets, that's such a relief for you not to have to worry about one more stressed cat.

Even though Ravan's numbers are over 100 it is still an awesome start! with meter variance it easily could have been a green this morning. Hopefully his vet appointment goes really well today and his BP is back to normal. I definitely hope there isnt anything wrong with his kidneys.

Poor Peggy-Sue, I'm not sure what I would do in your situation either, it isn't easy. If you want to go ahead with the dental an hour and a half away, is there any chance the vet may offer a discount or payment plan? I hope she gets better soon.

You have a lot going on but I hope you have a great day :D

hope there isnt anything wrong with his kidneys.

Ravan was diagnosed with stage 2 Kidney Disease months ago :( And High Blood Pressure!

vet may offer a discount

No discount! I've been advised from people here ,it would be a very good idea to have the anesthesiologist present when the dental is done because of Peggy Sue's age & condition. Another $1000 for that. $3000 does not include blood work prior to dental!:arghh:
This price only includes one extraction. (they consider it surgery) Peggy Sue's teeth are being absorbed. I'm sure it would involve many teeth. Do you see why I'm so stressed about all this? I love her & am so afraid she may not even make it thru all this! Right now she is still eating & coming to my bed at 3am for Love & a little talk.
If I put her thru all this & she dies during the procedure or comes home & gets worse I'd never forgive myself!

Hope Ravan's visit goes well and that kidney disease is still stage 2 and BP under control; also with the BW you'll be sure everything else is OK!

For Peggy Sue's dental, I would find it a HUGE problem also.:arghh: I think it's important that X rays be taken before and after the extraction to make sure tooth has been completely removed! If I were you, I wouldn't know what to do !!!! Listen to your heart and your feelings and your decision will be the best ! :bighug:
If I put her thru all this & she dies during the procedure or comes home & gets worse I'd never forgive myself!
That I understand so much ! :bighug:

Have a good appointment for Ravan tonight!

I definitely understand why you're so stressed. It sounds like Highway robbery honestly... I can't believe that an anesthesiologist wouldn't be included in the price...or that they couldn’t handle all of the extractions in one go( for the same price)... it’s crazy. I had gotten the impression she was feeling a lot better. I dont know a lot about tooth absorption, is it something that when its done absorbing that the body can heal without intervention?

Hopefully something comes up that can help Peggy Sue to heal.

I knew about Ravans BP but I don’t think I realized about his kidney failure. I hope it hasn’t progressed.

Sorry you’re going through all of this :bighug:
