morning everyone,
days like this I wish I drank coffee!!
so he was at 350 this moring, never thought I would be happy to see a 300!
I fed him 11% carbs and shot 2.25....I am just tooo nervous..
I will check at 1.5 before I leave and give some EVO dry if I feel that I have to

I am going to try to take a half day if possible...we shall see

Hope fully you all will have a great day!
Talk to you later

Denise and SHakes

Hopefully today will be anticlimatic.

NO ONE will ever call you Chicken SH*t......3.25 into 149!!!!

Not chicken, just cautious as you should be since this is your cat's life in your hands! You are doing fine. But, you did make me a nervous wreck last night!

Nothing chicken about it, you want to keep him safe while you are away at work all day. I would have reduced more than that.

I havn't read through the whole thread but you did a great job last night.

Re: 7/11 Shakes- semi chicken ****-TONIGHT

Thanks to all of you I stayed calm! (well somewhat calm...well near hysteria, but we will keep that here!)
I took a half day vacation today cause I was going crazy but still did not make it in time until his
+7 - which he was 198....his PMPS was 333 so since I am home tonight I upped him to 2.5 and gave a low carb food....
stay tuned!!

can you believe I was in such a rush to get home and check on him
Iforgot the #$%$^$ honey!!

I do have syrup though, and it seemd that the high carb dry food works quite well

What kind of syrup? Just curious...I guess anything in the syrup family would work..never thought of it before but pancake syrup even? It will be interesting to see what the 2.5 does tonight.

What kind of HC foods do you feed? And are you getting the carb % from Janet and Binky's list? So far, I've never had to worry about this issue, but I liked to be prepared just in case.

Barbara,
my vet told me maple syrup....dont know but i think i will stick with the HC dry

which I have a bag of Purina one, that I sometimes give my other 2 cats...
I also have a bag of Evo dry which they say is only 8% carbs, just in case
the Evo works when he goes to 60 or 70 and if I give him a littlw it will keep him at those numbers

not happy with the 2.5.....his +4 is 258....
but I think I will keep him here for a day or 2 to see what happens...maybe..
his +7 this afternoon was 198..so I dont know how low he went today...
he could have gone low and eaten around +5 and I wouldnt know(drives me crazy!)

Honey and syrup provide immediate sugar, so they are good for real emergencies, but they don't last long in the system, so if you are not needing something absolutely immediately, higher carb food can be better because it stays in the system longer.
Hope you won't be needing any of these !€%#! things!

Ginny, I used Janet & Binky's list. I got some 18 carb cans & wrote that on the can with a Sharpie then put it in a different location than their regular food. I also had a can of 6% carb so I sat that aside since what I usually feed them if 3% or so. I told everyone where it was & what the numbers on the can means & also pointed out the Karo syrup to them.
