Morning! Shadow has all 4 Ps this morning! Vet office game me some choices for the dentals...Friday the 13th or Wednesday the 18th. Since I am leaving on Jul 26th, I decided to put it off until I return so they will be going in on Wed Aug. 8th.
I hate dentals....ugh!
But one week wasn't a lot of time to deal with any complications, should any arise, before my trip.
Anyway, that was my thinking on it. Last dental, they both had trouble with eating afterwards even though all other dentals had no after effects at all. They had always been super fine after a dental. Last time though, Shadow was vomiting and irritated his throat even more and we ended up at the emergency vet office at 5am one day because he vomited up the HC gravy I had given him. With nothing in his stomach, and not holding anything down, I was nervous about his numbers. All ended up okay...but still.
This is a new vet and I am not expecting any bad experiences but it's just that I am remembering last time is all. There numbers may go down after the procedure too so I want to be here monitoring that. I thought that IF I leave it all status quo for now and for my trip, the new pet sitter won't have any big issues from the dental to worry about. Raja has been on clindamycin and her numbers have come down so that is good regarding her inflammed gums. Might have bought some time with that....
Anyway, it's so hard to know what to do....I should have done this months ago I guess....but I kept thinking about last time and hoping against hope that they would not need another dental. I ordered tooth brushes for the pair of them. That will be my new hobby and project for the 3 of us after i get home. LOL. They will be thrilled beyond belief, I just know it!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
Their blood work came back with nothing extraordinary so I am resting easier with that knowledge.
Happy Wednesday! Heading to my regularly scheduled Endocrinologist appt today...hope you all have more fun than I will be having! LOL!
