Good morning,

Yesterday's condo

Yesterday
AMPS=220 (0.5u); +2=274; +8.25=200
PMPS=202 (0.5u); +2=203; +6=221

Today
AMPS=189 (0.5u); +2=229; +7.5=308
PMPS=243 (0.5u); +2=259

Lucy ate the 1st breakfast fine.
I am hoping that I can get her to eat some more, but again she's looking little uncomfortable after eating.
Since daily Cerenia, Bupe and Cypro, she's been eating 1st meal well, but not the rest.
Last night, she seemed uncomfortable most of the time, so I thought maybe too much narcotic.
So I'm going to cut the Cypro dose from every 12hrs to every 24hrs.
She didn't get it this morning.
Also, she will not get the Cerenia injection today.
The vet and I decided we'd take a break every 3 days, and today is a no-Cerenia day.
She's still having pudding poo.
Metronidazole usually works faster, but it's taking time this time.
At the moment, I am more worried than anything.
Maybe I should appreciate that she's eating even half of her meal, but her improvement is particularly slow this time.
Bupe should be making her feel more comfortable but that's not happening - at least as well as it has in the past, so I am concerned there is something else wrong other than pancreatitis.

Ginger ate her breakfast well this morning!!
So she dodged the vet visit I was threatening again, at least for today.

Sending vines to all in need.

Keep eating ladies!! It makes your mamabean so happy to see you in the CPC!

I have been really lucky to avoid the pancreatitis in China (so far anyway) but I do know that it's an unpredictable disease. Each time it can cause different issues, which just means what works well one time, won't necessarily work well the next time....which makes it even more frustrating for us.

All we can do is keep trying and hoping we hit the "magic combo" of things that makes them feel better.

Poor little Lucy has sure had a tough time lately, but we are all sending lots of healing vines in hopes she feels better soon!

I'm glad she's eating some. When you say "uncomfortable" do you mean her tummy seems to hurt?

I'm happy to hear Ginger is doing better and eating!!!!

Sending Lucy more healing vines and some zen vines for you, Mariko.

When you say "uncomfortable" do you mean her tummy seems to hurt?

It's hard to explain, but if I wasn't giving her Bupe, I might have thought she was painful.
She doesn't exactly "meatloaf", but she isn't relaxed either when I think she's "uncomfortable".
Her face seems expressionless.
She sort of lay there but she doesn't rest her head.
She also purrs funny. She often purrs when I pet her even when I think she is uncomfortable, but she sounds different - little whiny.
This is happening almost always after eating now, even when she eats well, 15 minutes later, she seems uncomfortable and doesn't want to eat anymore.
And also, I've noticed she appears like that after medication too, so I thought I might be over-medicating her, especially with Cypro.
I myself often feel really groggy whenever I take antihistamine. Maybe she's feeling the same?

I am really unhappy how hot today is. :-x
I've put some ice cubes in their water bowls.
I also damped their fur with a wet cloth.

Re: 7/11 Lucy PMPS=243

Thank you very much for checking in on Lucy (& Ginger).

Lucy is feeling better this evening!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I think giving her both Cypro and Bupe was too much.
I was sort of warned about this before.
I have talked about Cypro and Bupe together with 3 vets in the past on different occasions.
One didn't want to use them together, the 2nd vet said it wasn't ideal but not dangerous, the 3rd vet said it was perfectly fine.
I think for Lucy and for this time, getting 2 narcotic drugs together was making her too groggy.

She ate both 1st and 2nd dinner well.
And she didn't act uncomfortable after eating this evening.
She had another diarrhea while I was gone, and major poopy bum when I came home from my volunteer, but it was already the shot time and I didn't want to make her upset before dinner.
So I gave her the bum cleaning between 1st and 2nd dinner.
She was upset but less upset than previous bum baths. We are both getting better at this.
And she forgave me quickly and was cooperative with the 2nd dinner.

On the other hand, Ginger isn't eating again. :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad: :sad:
She ignored her regular raw venison, but ate a small amount of Fancy Feast.
It was a very hot day, so I think that's why her appetite is off, but I'm still worried because it has never affected her in the previous summers.
For today, because she ate the breakfast fine, I'm just going to let her be and leave some canned food in case she feels like it later.
I think I'm going to give her sub-q fluids every other day while it's hot.

Re: 7/11 Lucy PMPS=243

Oh, I forgot to mention.....

So my plan for Lucy's meds is this.
I'm going to hold Cypro unless absolutely necessary, and stick with just Bupe.
Plus Cerenia as needed.
I have 2 more pre-filled syringes of Cerenia, but I may not have to use them... we'll see.

I'm so glad Lucy is eating well again and seems to feel better. I hope Ginger's problem is just the heat.

Sending healing vines for Lucy and appy vines for both. I hope you are having a good night, Mariko.
