hello everyone !

well callie had a visit to the vet today at 2:30 pm they wanted to check her bg they new I was going to bring callies meter.

they took blood from her front leg to do this they got 280 I used callies meter I got 275 ! callies vet was not there so we seen the man vet , he said he has had sugar kittys come through there and he has tried to get beans to home test but the beans don't even want to try they just have there sugar kitties put down :`( he asked me if I would help out if more kitties were dx with fd , I said yes I would. ( of course ) I can't figure out the doseage but I can show how to home test and shoot ! I'm learning slow but sure :) with all of your help :YMHUG: and you know that this is the first place I would tell them to go :) the man vet ( I don't even know his name ) was very nice and looked at callies ss and said I'm keeping on top of it.

he also said he doesn't think callie is on the right insulin she is getting her nadir at + 2 and +3 way early and her numbers are not changing alot, then she rises the rest of the day ! I finally got a pee sample and callie has no infections :) callie was so upstet today she was hissing at everyone (ME TO) I did it to prove a point about home testing !

callies vet ( the woman ) called me later and said she wants callie kept on pro zinc and 1 unit 2x a day for the next week and we will she were she is then . what do ya think ?

Good for you for offering to help newbies and good for the man vet for seeing the importance of home testing and the support system we have built up. Yeah! we need to win over the vets one at a time and you are doing your part.

Glad that your meters matched up, does that make you feel more secure about your testing?

I kind of agree about the early nadirs, but I think the jury is still out on that.

I would give the 1 unit a chance for another week and see what happens.

You are doing such a great job with all of this.

thank you Robyn :YMHUG: I have always felt good about the home testing :) but I kept getting **** from callies vet so this put a stop to that! I can test her and do curves at home she don't have to go through all that stress and pain of going there right ;-) I can put on boxing gloves if I need to

Right, she doesn't have to go to the vet for her curves, you have that firmly under control.

We all need to put on the boxing gloves every so often. You go girl!!! :RAHCAT
