Good Afternoon, Everyone,

I appear to have done it again: another fur shot this morning (it sure looked like it got in, but Edward smelled Lev. and so did I in a few minutes. I'm beginning to wonder if the insulin can leak out again while withdrawing the syringe). Anyway, the +8.5 number (which should be nadir) seems to be a combination of the fur shot and a bounce from last night. I was so pleased to see that 130--Rusty-type--number this morning and then--whammy! I really feel bad for him. These fur shots are not good for his body.

I just got back from climbing Scarface Mt. It was humid, hot, no breeze at all, and then we had rain. But we did it and it was a pretty easy climb with the exception of some tricky, slippery rockface near the summit. There was no view from the forested summit, but one of the ledges provided a view (or would have, if it hadn't been so hazy). Very tired now and this weather doesn't help. It's like Washington D.C. summer weather (we lived in the D.C. area in the early 1970s without air conditioning and suffered).

bbl, Hope all is well in LL.

Re: 7/10 Rusty AMPS 130; fur shot; +8.5 363

It was nice seeing Rusty back in those great numbers yesterday. Bummer about the fur shot. I might have done one a couple of days ago, no smell after shot but did notice a couple hours later. :YMSIGH: That long hair does make an extra challenge.

Good news on completing the climb. I'm sorry it wasn't a better day for it, but maybe you can go back in nice weather sometime when it's not part of a challenge. Time for watermelon?

I hate those fur shots. Rusty will get back on track soon. Congratulations on completing the climb. Too bad your weather wasn't better.

Ella, are you sure you're not smelling the insulin that drips down the needle, to the hub, when you expel, to get the correct dose?
Rusty's gonna give you some nice numbers tomorrow.....I said so!

Congrats on completing the climb. Did you say yesterday, that you get a patch for completing a series of climbs? Not sure if that's what you said. You proud of yourself? Can you reach your back to pat it? :-D I can't with my short arms.

I hope it's quieter at your place, than here. Lots of thunder and lightening.

Hi again,
Barb, the numbers tell me that it is not insulin that drips down the outside of the syringe (and I always blot the syringe after I fill it to eliminate any excess). Nope, that was a fur shot, all right. Tonight's shot was OK, so here's hoping.

Yes, it is a "challenge" that I am doing: The 6 mountains that are close to the Village of Saranac Lake. None of them qualify as "High Peaks", but they are challenging nonetheless, especially in this wet, muggy, muddy weather. I have climbed 4 and will climb the 5th on Friday. The week after next we will climb the remaining mountain (which I have climbed many times in the past, but before the challenge began; past climbs do not count). The reward: a patch, a sticker, and your name recorded in the register. So I will be a "Saranac 6er"; next winter we may climb them all again to become "Saranac Winter 6ers".

Rusty is chillaxin' in his basket in front of the fan. This weather is supposed to improve by the weekend and we will all be happy if it actually does!

Kudos to you, Ella Mountain Climber! What an amazing feat!
Sorry about the furshot. It's a bummer when that happens. I'm sure Rusty will bounce back soon.

Thank you so much for the camping links on my condo today! When Ripley was first diagnosed, I stumbled across Patti & Merlin's post about cat-camping, but didn't bookmark/save it. I've been looking for it since. You are amazing!

I hope you guys are having a good evening :-D

Drat on that fur shot. :-x Would it be helpful to trim his fur around his scruff? If he would let you... Congrats in #4. :-D Funny how those little prizes can be so motivating. :-D

Hi Ella,

Drats on the fur shot - it is just frustrating! Congrats on doing the mountain challenge, especially in the humidity :-D

I was so happy to go to the Merrick website and see they will still have the CC :-D Since we have to watch Cleo's phosphorus (which means no more FF, her favorites), the CC has been a life saver. I rotate it with Wellness. Tonight I tried a Max Cat, low phos, but realized later, 9% carbs and it sent her high, at least for a kitty who is supposed to be on a OTJ trial

Thanks again - Hope you have a good night!

Wow Ella, you've been having a run lately with those fur shots.
Perhaps we should get you a dart board for some practice. JK.
Hope you can regain your momentum.
