Hi guys.

For those of you who were not around last night, Kiwi finally hit some blues (even one green) last night...even after a PMPS of 438. He was dropping very quickly, but the only change I made was to move up his regular LC small meal from his normal +6 to +5.25, to slow down his plunge. So now I'm wondering how he could have come all the way up from 149 at +7 to 438 at +10. His food shouldn't have done that (I don't think). I'm worried that he's back to scrounging for food anywhere he can get it (such as the garbage can)...and eating things that diabetic cats should never eat. Is there any other explanation? That was too soon for a bounce, right?

Today is a different story than last night. AMPS at 354, +2 at 285, and +5 at 313. Anyone know what might be happening. So far, today has been much different than I expected.

Anyone who has an explanation for that sudden high bg last night, or if tonight is likely to be like last night (if so, I need a nap...now).

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying good weather. Take care and thanks for all your help

Hi! I'm still fairly new to all this, but I've seen China's numbers go like that quite often. I'd say that since you had the 99 at 4.5 and the 101 @ +5 ( numbers Kiwi's body isn't used to), you're looking at a bounce

I'm sure more experienced eyes will be along soon to give their opinion too!

Good luck to you. I know how frustrating this sugardance is!

I agree with Chris. There are two reasons a cat can bounce. One is low numbers, and the other is a fast drop. Yesterday morning Kiwi went from 356 at +1 to 213 at +3, a drop of 143 or over 70 points an hour. That would be enough to cause Kiwi's liver to panic and cause the 438 at PMPS time. Then he went from that 438 to 143 at +3, a drop of 295 points in 3 hours or almost 100 points an hour. Then he did a lovely blue surf and hit a green and it's been a long time since he's seen a green. So, a second reason for the liver to panic and added to the bounce. My Neko has bounced that quickly before too. On the positive side, Kiwi has a very healthy liver. :-D Over time as he gets used to seeing more green and blue, the bouncing will diminish.

Thanks. I was confused about bouncing just recently and didn't want to get it wrong again. (and I do hope Kiwi isn't getting into people food again)!

If anyone has a different way to look at it, let me know.
