HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!

Last night, we had a brief storm and RAIN! Don't know how much we got, but they said the northern end of the county got 5"!!! We had a smaller storm this morning, rain and thunder and I hear the thunder rolling, again, but not sure this storm will be for us. My flowers were very appreciative of the rain and since they said these storms are the key to breaking the heat wave, I'm THANKFUL for them!!!

I have NO IDEA what's going on with Hershey...do I ever??? He's back to cleaning his plate almost immediately...well, as soon as he's sure he can't sneak any of Oreo's food. :lol: He seems to be getting a little too comfortable in the pinks... :YMSIGH: and, I was SO hoping he'd have some good numbers to show the vet on Thursday...He spent all of last night's cycle in pinks (almost RED). That makes 2 of the 4 cycles since we increased.

At last night's +6, he seemed a little 'sad.' I sat with him a few minutes and gave some extra attention. We had put the kitty blanket (used to be Jessica's favorite until the kitties took it over ;-) ) on the back of the futon because that's where Oreo likes it. I moved it to the futon (where Hershey was) and he got right on it. Been hanging out there this afternoon, too. Maybe the rain makes him feel yucky? Or maybe just wanted his security blanket? Or, who knows and isn't tellin'???

Sorry HErshey doesnt seem himself
maybe he is just having an off day, we all do sometimes
dont worry hwill bounce back and be back to normal soon!
I know how hard it is to see them when they just arent themselves
hang in there....and hopefully Hershey will give you some good numbers soon!

Hi Libby - It is nice to see Hershey leave the pinks for the yellows. Hope fully he will settle,and like this dose. Sometimes it takes a few cycles for it to kick in. Think Blue Hershey - it's a great color, adn I know you will like it. :-D :-D

I too hope that yesteryear was just an off day. Mannie isn't too fond of the rainy days either. Nice on the blanket - I bet he really liked that. Mannie would too.

Hi guys .. lots of yellows this afternoon for hershey! Sorry to hear he was feeling sad .. sometimes I tell peter mocha or twix look sad .. he says he never see's it .. must be mom's intuition :lol: Hope you guys get some more rain, we desperately need it as well, but at least someone is getting some! have a great day!

Thanks, Denise. You're right; it is hard to see them feeling puny and not knowing what to do about it. Have to wonder if part of it is him staying in the higher numbers, but who knows?

Hey, Michelle - I keep hoping he'll settle in and like this dose, but it's not looking good so far. Isn't it funny how the same dose that brought (33) on 7/3 now brings no less than (263)?

Hey, Devon - Maybe it is mom's intuition that can tell they're sad. Jessica can see it, too, so maybe girls are just better at sensing emotions? ;-) I hope y'all get some rain soon! Wish the rain had helped the humidity here...STICKY!!!

Hi Libby.....Dontcha just hate when kitty is feeling 'off' and you don't know how to fix it? Checkers too, feels yucky in rainy weather.
It's nice to read that Hershey is eating well. That makes the beans happy, yes? :-D
Aww, too cute on him taking over Jessica's blanket. I'm assuming that is your DD.?

I want rain too!! *pouts and whines* My grass is turning brown.

Hey, Barb. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, Jessica is my baby - 18-years old :lol: She LOVES our kitties!! and they LOVE her, especially Oreo. When Hershey was little, she'd dress him up in dresses and bonnets and he'd just play along. Oreo is just as passive as can be and lets her do whatever she wants to him. He brings her big bugs as presents and cries outside her bedroom door when she closes it. Let's just say big bugs are NOT her favorite present to receive ;-)

I know it can take a couple of cycles to settle into a dose, but it seems his numbers just keep rising...going to move +6 feeding to +5 to see if that helps (although I'm not hopeful). Unless there's an infection/virus/something else going on that he's not letting me know about, I can't figure out what else to do...He's going to the vet on Thursday, but I don't have any leads to give her as to what the problem may be...

Just out of curiosity, has Hershey ever had a dental?

No, he's never had a dental. That was another thing I was going to talk to the vet about Thurs. I had thought about trying to brush his teeth, but read you shouldn't do it unless they've already been checked out by the vet.

Hoping you're right and these high numbers mean a break is coming...

Makes me wonder if I'd waited for +6, if maybe we'd have seen blue...nah...chances are we'd have missed the yellow and been back to pink....

Been trying for weeks to get a ketone test on Hershey, but to no avail. He's pretty sneaky. Earlier, I coaxed him all the way to the box, but he gave me this, 'Lady, you're crazy.' look and walked off. :YMSIGH: SURE don't want THAT to be an issue we didn't catch...

Bright spot of the evening - 'talked' to my boy. Said he needs one of the shirts he forgot by 7am Sat. Looks like we'll be making a run up to camp Thurs night after shot time. It'd be a shame to go that distance and not even get to see him, so he's seeing if he can get permission to leave long enough for a quick Cook-Out run. Hoping to make it back by +6, but it might be closer to +7. We'll just leave the auto-feeders set maybe for +4...

Moving feeding to +5 might also mean an extra hour of sleep! :o :-D

Look some nice BLUE!!! This is encouraging! Moonie is usually lethargic & moody in the rain...
Could Hershey have a little arthritis?? Some cats just hate the rain--Hope the dose kicks in--

Hey, Marje - That's what I keep telling him. Not sure if he doesn't believe me or if he's asking for more. Since he's going to the vet Thurs and we'll be gone much of Thurs PM cycle, we'll see how he does between now and Friday. That'd be 9 cycles.

Hey, Carl - Good to see you. I was sure happy to see the drop tonight. I don't what he's up to lately! Was able to go to bed an hour early tonight and could NOT sleep. Guess I'll have to get used to the schedule change. I hope all is well with you and Bob; I believe we have an anniversary party soon??

Hey, Roni - I've wondered off and on about Hershey and arthritis in his surgical hip. He used to cry on rainy days if you messed around the hip area. But, he didn't seem to be hurting yesterday, just 'feeling puny' as my grandma would say. Maybe his joints were cold, because he spent a lot of time on the blanket, or maybe just an off day. He wasn't forthcoming with a lot of details. ;-)

Since I was still up...reading a few condos...I decided to test again

+9 (180) WOOT!!

Now, I hate to go to bed, not knowing what color I'll wake up to...
