Happy Fursday! Lots of healing vines to Lucy, Tiger, Sasha, Minka, Tricia, Zener, Trixie, Trey, and Sabrina. Cheering on Zack!! Thank you all so very much for your birthday wishes yesterday in Gracie's condo and the one Carl started. I had a lovely day and it meant so much to me to have your sweet wishes!
You may recall that Gracie had scratched the inside of both ears so I was putting extra neosporin in there (a lot, actually). All of a sudden, she has gotten these big welts on the outside of her ears. We got in to see Dr. B today and she did all her NRT on her and it appears she is extremely allergic to the neosporin! In the past when we were testing a lot, it seemed she would get these little pimple type spots but they'd go away. Mike thinks (and Dr. B agrees) that when I put all that extra neosporin on the inside of her ears, it caused a massive allergic rxn. There does not appear to be any bacterial, fungal, yeast, or viral stuff going on thankfully. I feel so bad for her but they don't actually seem to hurt her....just itch. But Dr. B did not want me to put any hydrocortisone cream on them because of Gracie's past liver issues. She gave us a lidocaine spray to use instead of the neosporin and also a good a/b ointment that doesn't have the same ingredients as the neosporin. She thinks it might be the proxamine in the neosporin that is causing the issue. She also appears to be allergic to the TJ's chicken/turkey/rice 10% that we've been using. So that's now gone. Other than her ears, she tested a perfect 10 on everything. Whew! I was worried the culprit might be her shrimpies!!!
I had an appt this morning so she decided to Lil Stinka her dad. I am sure her current numbers are vetty influenced as it always really stresses her out. It makes us so sad....she actually shivers and buries herself under the covers. I hope she levels off a bit.
Hope you've had a great day and will have a super evening.
