I am getting a little frustrated and nervous about what to do with Simon's ear allergies. I have tried the zymox without the steroid and tried an anti-histimine with no luck. I have cut out all fish from Simon's diet and he continues to scratch his ears and around his ears. There is even some blood where he has scratched pretty hard. My question is this: My civvie, Cleo, was also scratching her ears and the vet diagnosed her last week with a small staph infection. She is now on the Zymox with the steroid. Should I give Simon the Zymox with the steroid even though his bg went sky high with Tresaderm (which has a steroid)? I just don't know what else to do. I know I should probably do some type of allergy testing, but I just can't afford it right now. I am still paying off Simon's dental and Cleo's vet visit was another fortune last week. All advice is welcome -- I am just so concerned about my poor Simon's ears and how uncomfortable he seems.
Other than the ear problems, Simon is doing pretty well. He is still posting high bg numbers in the AM but yesterday, he was mostly green the rest of the day. He is eating well. I changed him over from Fancy Feast to mostly Wellness chicken and also the turkey. LB action is normal.
Thanks, everyone!
