I know how frustrating flat yellows are but hopefully she'll break the habit and show some blues. You've had to bring her dose up to 5.25 in the past...hopefully it won't take that to get some action going. As long as she's feeling good that's what matters. Sending prayers & vines to you both.

Eleanor is having diarrhea, it started yesterday but I was hoping she just needed to pass a furball. She has had multiple small poops which I have examined and found no furball. She did vomit some fur, fur usually comes out both ends so I will remain on poop patrol.
I sent a text to her vet and he said to go ahead and start her Metronidazole. I'm going to in hopes it will help with inflammation in her bowel. He said if not better in a couple days to bring her in. I have no money so can't do that. Praying the diarrhea will resolve, I honestly don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.

Did we talk about probiotics for her? I think we probably did, but I'm not certain so will give you this link, just in case it's new to you. http://www.ibdkitties.net/probiotics/ I have started one of mine on Renew Ultimate probiotics (Colon Care), giving him 2 capsules a day in the hope of helping his gut. I think he has a slow motility issue as it's common for him to vomit, sometimes daily.

Not that it helps when he eats all kinds of non-food things like ribbons and plastic wrap. I try to be vigilant but he's got a radar for the odd thing left out.

Good to see you & Eleanor, Julie. I hope the metronidazole helps.

Julie--I know you have some of your own health concerns-- I just wanted to let you know what I just earned from others--
I am also giving metro to Rico--
they have found some kittys have nuero issues with to high of a dose--
he is 12# and gets about 1/4 of a 250mg tablet crushed in a #4 capsule 2x a day--
in the told days it was 1/2 a 250mg 2x a day.... most vets have changed as they have leaned more-

Probiotics made Eleanor's diarrhea and vomiting worse. I've been told it's not possible but I did find a couple references to that happening, you are supposed to stop then restart with a smaller amount. I tried that and she started having diarrhea again. I haven't felt like trying again yet.

Eleanor weighs between 11 and 12 pounds and is given 25mg Metronidazole 2x a day, which I personally do not think is enough. The vet wants to do a low dose since she was being treated with it every few weeks sometimes for a couple weeks at a time. I wonder if it might work better at a higher dose.
