Happy appy, feisty, spunky, snuggly, and anti-jinxes are the order of the day! She really has been on snuggle-overload lately....no complaints here!!
My Dad's chemo went fine yesterday. His markers are still high, but they are stable, which with this current protocol may be as good as it gets. My FIL was "stable" with Stage IV melanoma for 7 years...gotta remember that. That, and markers are just a small piece of the picture and definitely not the best measure since so many factors affect them. He feels well, and that's what counts. Plus, his bone scan was clear. So all is good. My Mom and just put a quick, small trip to Sam's while he was being treating...we didn't overload the car this time!
I ran into one of my business partners at the medical arts building yesterday...she's pregnant and her OB has one of his offices in the same building where my Dad gets chemo. I didn't know that, and I was shocked to see her step off the elevator. Talk about no escape from work while on staycation! Honestly, I'm happy for her, but at the same time, I'm frustrated because during our last several months of having the store open we're going to have to contend with her 8 week maternity leave AND her barely being back (and bringing baby to work) once her leave is up. This was a very planned situation, so things could have played out a few months later than they are. It's only the three of us running the place - we have no employees, so the fall is going to be very tough on the two of us. So running in to her (or my other partner) in the middle of my vacation wasn't something I was hoping for!
Anyway...for now, I'm on staycation. It is an errand day, but I'm not at work! Have a great day, L&LL!
