Hi Everyone in Lantus Land,

This is Tigger's 1st cycle on Lantus - switching over from 1.3 units Prozinc for 3 weeks.

It seems like he's stayed pretty level so far, which I am grateful for - I was worried about some high 1st day numbers. He may still be coming off of a higher bounce yesterday PM cycle after a good AM cycle yesterday, I'm not sure.

Is this fairly normal for a starting cycle? Is there anything I should be expecting other than a +10 to +12 dive?

Thanks for helping me try to decipher the 'Lantus Language', I'm excited to finally be here!
 
Personally, I'd say it's an impressive first day. To be honest, I'm not sure there's ever a "typical" first day. This first week may be somewhat unpredictable since the insulin depot is in the process of forming.

I would just be attentive and see if you can begin to get a feel for when onset begins and when nadir occurs.
 
Thanks for your input, Sienne & Margie. Will keep monitoring. Seems so far we have a mild early nadir - I'll try & look for patterns.

Can anyone tell me how to link a previous thread or where to find that info? I read Margie's Lantus link & it suggests that. I'm new to forums & don't know how.

Tomorrow morning, open this thread which we call a condo.

Copy the browser address. Then go the main Lantus Land page and click on "new topic" just like you did today.

Put the cursor in the text box and then click on the "url" button above the text box. It will push this in the text box:

Put the cursor after the second bracket and right click to paste the link you copied in between the boxes so it looks like this:
