Morning LL! Moonie had a crazy night , but is not eating much on her own--I tested & shot her this am, she took like 2 licks & that was it-I now have 4 ff flavors out for her--I did catch her eating some of the mc I left out for her last night an 1 1/2 hr before her test & shot--She seems totally disinterested in eating, but I hope nothingnis wrong. Her numbers have been great but appetite nil..even with the dropped dose!
She didnt even want to eat temptations last night, but finally did--Had to food syringe her last nite & gave her some karo too!
Tried evo duck, Nothing!!
I hope things will get better today I only have 3 strips left & am waiting for arrival in the mail!!!
All in all HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nailbite_smile nailbite_smile nailbite_smile

Good morning guys .. yes, this is a pretty start to the day but moonie, you need to eat little miss ... Is it extra warm where you guys are? My girls won't eat much on the really hot days ... I hope she starts eating for you today .. have a great holiday weekend!

She will not eat any cat food, but did take a lick of hc friskies gravy, yes just one lick--I'm going out to store to pick up a few cans of elegant medleys just in case she drops!!--then to pet food store later today--
What is wrong here?? She is eating the chicken livalittles?--Tried parmesean cheese--
Maybe some chicken dust--This is crazy!--Please Moonie not this weekend!!!!! ohmygod_smile :shock: :shock: :shock:

Hey Roni, I hope that Moonie will start eating her food soon. Other than not eating, is she behaving normally? Could she have a hairball? Perhaps its the weather. Perhaps it's the anticipation of the arrival of the in-laws (Moonie is smart and she has certainly picked up on your mood!)
If she isn't eating much, perhaps you should shave a little off her dose. Anyway, don't panic. See how she does this morning, and if you're really worried, take her to your vet this afternoon, before the holiday weekend kicks in.

Finicky cats will be the death of all of us, I'm sure!!! I hope you find something that gets her taste buds awake. I don't know if you've tried the freeze-dried salmon, but Champ goes absolutely nuts for it. PetSmart has it. I crumble it over his Wellness every day...it's the only way I can get him to eat it!! But once he starts eating, he just hoovers through it. The salmon is magic!!

Sending tons of eating vines for Moonie. She needs to eat her fuds (hear that, Moonie? Ya needs ta eat, little girl.) Could be that the temperature where you're at has changed, and it became warmer... Or you're planning something big, and she's stressed out over it (yes, cats can read minds... Believe me, I know LOL), or could be that it is the 4th of July weekend, and they're not looking forward to the fireworks that will be happening. Did you have fireworks near your house last night? Could be that, too.

Hi Roni, could it be the drop in bg's last night that could cause the appetite loss? When Maggie has lows, she sometimes doesn't want to eat. Yesterday with the heat she didn't eat much; what about some Gerber Stage 2 Chicken & Gravy baby food? Maggie gets it as a treat for the pokes, just a little! Sending some start eating vines for Moonie.

Thanks for the tips!!! I tried 6 flavors, but put some livalittles chicken dust on her reg plate & she ate a bit--
I see this is all an act, as she is eating the livalittles happily--so seems behavioral...
Praying for my strips to come in mail today or use DH's true track meter--Or buying them in walgreens(oh no :shock: they are about a million $$ there!)--Paws & fingers crossed--
Thanks for the tips, will try the freeze dried salmon, Who has the freeze dried tuna??

WHEW!!! Strips did not come!! I'm off to Walgreens as my DH's strips have expired, so I'll pay double for the accu check!!--So glad there was no drop-a-thon today!! I need soem peace before the invasion of the Inlaws!!

ARRRRGGghhhhhhhhh on the strips! Come on Moonie, EAT! Have you tried plain chicken, not ideal, but if it gets her started……? Or Chicken hearts and jiblets that usually fires up the juices for Tess..

Sorry I wasn't on earlier, I just saw a store brand meter called "Up & Up" at Target, $10. 50 strips are around$20, but they have a box of 25 for only $10. I'm goig to try it for a backup meter, you don't have a full vial of strips sitting waiting to expire.

Moonie did start to eat by herself later in the afternoon :-D :mrgreen: :-D --
I had to get a True Track meter at Walgreens, which was $14.99 strips for true track $14.99---so now I have 33 strips(used 2) and my DH's strips were expired--The accu check aviva strips were $72.00 & $59.00-YIKES!!!!!!!! so I just got this as a back up--Dont know what the variance is, but I will probably get the strips tomorrow for accu check so I will test.....
Moonie ate a good hand fed dinner & was quite normal tonite--I am leaving the dose at 0.5U for now, unless she rises a lot..Need to keep her safe & calm--DSIL & DH & DFIL will be in tomorrow, but going to the Hotel where family wedding is--They wont be here till Monday :thumbup :thumbup dancing_cat flip_cat dancing_cat haha_smiley

BTW- I get my strips from Amazon.com from the cheapest seller, who can ship quickly(except for this time!!)

Oh Roni! I am so sorry I am just getting to condos. Blah on the strips. I hope Moonie starts eating soon. Maybe she's been reading her condo and is worried about the invasion!! She is too smart sometimes.

Roni, I'm finally catching up on some condos this evening. Wow on the late shipment of strips. What a stressful day with Moonie not eating much and all your family coming in. Why does it seem like everything happens at once? Maybe Moonie is figuring out that there is a bunch of people coming over in the next few days and it is causing some behavior issues with not eating? I hope tomorrow is a better day.

I see she hasnt eaten so I just gave her 9 temptations--Sometimes, it makes her humgry & she eats a bit..
Hope the tempts keep her up, if she drops anymore I'll hc her--Coffee anyone????

Come on Moonie you have got to eat. You're driving your Mom to distraction. Have you tried giving her some Pepcid? Will she eat if finger fed?

What a day for Moonie!!! I'm so glad you finally got her to eat!!! Her numbers are looking phenomenal lately. Bummer on having to buy another meter and strips.

Have fun with all your house guests before the wedding. KEEP EATING MISS MOONIE!!
 
Just hand fed her some beef FF lc & managed to step on her foot, so she is soooooooo pissed at me!!!!

Feel bad that I stepped on her, I was worried that family would do just that & I did it!!!!!! :oops: :oops: :oops: --Hope I didnt hurt my poor baby, but she is really mad at me!!
Felt her feet & they are OK I think--She is just very insulted! and I am so so so sorry!
