Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Lots! It's Monday AND hike day, fuel required), and Happy First Day of July!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! AND!!!! It's CHEERY CHERRY MONDAY! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a VENTI Quad cherry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cherry whip garnished with candied cherry sprinkles and white chocolate curls OH! No worries, a dollop of cheery cherry chunks, chocolate curls, and Vail swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! GUESS WHAT! One of our beans thought maybe I could add something called a cronut to the menus! So.... I went to NY as suggested, found the bakery, bought several dozen, and yupp! They is mega good! so.... Cronuts, along with the mega good dunking cookies, are being delivered with the ~O) ~O) 's today. SWEET!

I hope everyone had a good Sunday, and a great weekend. It was fairly low keyed here. I got lots of loose ends done, chores, errands and things that needed to be completed. I spent Sunday morning at the shore, went early in the morning. I think I made it by 7AM, in an effort to beat the heat of the afternoon, and the masses, aka crowds, that always show there when the weather turns warm and sunny. Our weather has been gorgeous! We are in eh mid 890's, clear skies, and it looks like this pattern will continue through the week. We may actually, for once, get a 4th of July that is sunny!! We never get those.... If it's going to rain here in July one can usually be assured that one of the days will be 7/4.  Maybe this year will be an exception. anyways... I digress! Yesterday morning at the shore was very nice, warm at 65, and deserted, which was really nice. I took a few photos, so here you go: more Meadowdale :-D

No new news on the furkids. They are trying to stay cool too. In the warmest room of the house. SIlly kitties! It always amused me when they do that. Mannie did too. it could be 90 here and he'd be laying in the hottest room in a sunbeam. Crazy! Lola did spend sometime chasing a fly here yesterday in the office room of the house. All over EVERYTHING as she tried to catch that darn thing. In and out of my blinds too!  After and hour and a half of this I suddenly became very quiet. So.... I start looking around the room, and there she is on the window sill munching away. Guess she finally caught that fly. LOL: probably wore him out with all that chasing....

Have a great day everyone. I am off to hike as soon as I post this. I am headed north to Baker Lake to hike the lake trail that I read is very nice. Lots of mountain views, several creek crossings, and what I hope will be a very nice lake. An adventure awaits, as I have never done this one. SWEET!

KITTIES!: Think BLUE!!, Think GREEN!!

Morning Michelle ~O) Elsa is really getting creative with her coffees, and I love the Cherry Cherry new one. Also so cool with the cookies and cronuts, yum. Elsa, thanks you so much for everything, Auntie Ann.
Those pics of Meadowdale are gorgeous, a really neat place and you picked the right time in the early morning nd before the crowds. That's wha I used to do with a beach walk when I lived closer.
Oh I had to laugh with Lolo and the fly. My GA kitty used to jump around like crazy, too, when a horsefly accidentally got inside the apartment. He also ate it.
Have a great hike today, Michelle, sounds like a great one. Keep cool, Gatorade help a lot and lots of water, but I know you know all that. Enjoy.

Morning Michelle! I've read somewhere that cats were desert animal before they are domesticated that's why they love the heat & doesn't like to drink water
Have a nice day & enjoy your hike!

Woohoo Cronuts and Cheery Monday!

That calls for another Woohoo!

Hey Lil Bit - why not ask the young'uns if they will make the cronuts! They might enjoy that as much as making pizza! And thank you for today's delivery, I see you between the raindrops! Hurry, it's raining hard here and you don't want to get your fur wet!

Maui said you can borrow her wagon, it has an umbrella, it will make your deliveries easier!

Signed, Maui's Bean

Morning Michelle,
I suppose as i'm typing you're taking pictures of some beautiful new vistas! New pics tomorrow!!! Have great fun!!

Elsa, Whoo Hoo Cheery Cherry Monday and Cronuts... i never had a cronut but i'm lovin it. You look so cute this morning! You with arms full of mochas and Maui with her wagon full of cronuts! whoops... there goes Ollie, never one to miss any fun..he's dancing_cat dancing_cat out Elsa's door and down the street with them. I wonder what fun they will have today.

OH this is too cool. Here i am with Elsa and Maui. Thank heavens my bean didn't see me leaving. She'd make me wear some stupid hat. She has hats for cold, hats for sun, hats for noise..huh?? I've never done deliveries with Elsa so this is one special day! And Maui is letting me taste the cronuts. YUM Let's go play when Elsa is done. OK? - oliver

Hi Michelle. Glad you beat the crowd to the beach and had an enjoyable time. Nice report of all furkids being happy and relaxed.

Hope you get a sunny 4th of July. Have a great day.

The coffee concoctions sound so yummy, I almost want one! ~O)

Zener does the same thing with the sun on a hot day, crazy cats. Z goes to the hottest part of the yard, with full sun and cinder rock, and stretches out flat. Liz put up a sheet over the corner of that part of the yard, it's his cabana - at least to give him a little shade. He loves it.

Hi Michelle,

Happy Monday to you too. My kitties do the same thing, like to hang out in the hottest room of the house. Before we bought the house, I lived in an apartment that had a heater in the living room. The heater blew hot air out of a vent at the bottom. Zeus loved to lay right in front of the vent, had a drooler before that that did the same thing. I always worried that they would get burned, but they were smart enough to move when they got too warm.

Hope you had a great day,
Kathie

Hi Michelle,

I love the young kitty stories. It makes me remember when my two still chased flies!

Elsa - your coffee was fabulous this morning! Just what I needed to get up 3 hours early!! :)

Grace

Hi Michelle, Sounds like you are having some beautiful weather! Hope you had a wonderful time exploring. A lake trail with mountain views sounds very inviting :-D

Keep cool, guys! We have your rain. About to start work on an ark.

Hope you had a good day, Michelle. Catch up with you when we get home tomorrow. Linda says hi.

Ella & Rusty

Stopping in late to say I hope you had a happy Monday, too!

My kitties are also funny with the heat...as soon as they are done, they seek out the hottest spot in the house, then lay there as stretched out and as flat as they can! Crazy cats...

Hi everyone. ~O) I hope your day has been a good one. I have just returned from my hiking adventure, which was really nice, but I an SO TIRED!!! So forgive me for not visiting condos tonight, as I think once I sit down I will crash. I had the best intentions too! ;-) It has been an interesting day today. About 5.5 miles into this hike I see movement about 150 yards ahead, thinking hmmmm: hiker and dog on the trail. well no, one big black bear.  He was just wandering along the trail for maybe 300 yards, and then he heads to the lake. RELIEF! That was fun! :o      Hiking with black bear. LOL. No photo though: too many trees and too far away. It was kinda cool though. I ended up doing 17 of the 28 RT miles: made the first campground by 10AM and thought sheshhh not going back at 10AM, so kept on going. LOL. One sometimes forgets that one also has to hike back out.  Climbed about 1700 feet too - shessh on that too. the trail is more or less flat, but has all these tiny hills and valleys: guess they add up HAHA. anyways - it is a nice woods hike, with exceptional views when all the trees allow it. That was one drawback: can't really see much of the lake, and no lake access. Lots of nice creeks though. If I go back I will go in from the north end - I suspect that is where the kid friendly part of this trail rating is. Sure wasn't on the part I was on. anyways.... I will feel those 17 miles and 1700 feet tomorrow, and the chaffing from my jeans. OW: have some raw spots: too hot, alot of sweat and things rub. oh well. : ) It has been a great day. Bear sighting was worth it! SWEET! I will post the Picassa photo and video link in tomorrow's Loose Lips.

THANKS Jane, Grace, Kathie, Anne, Liz, John, Mary, Hillary, Helen, Ann, Amy, Ella and Angela for visiting me today. It is so appreciated. Forgive me for not answering you all individually. Fatigue rules the roost here. I-) I-) I-) I-) Those 17 miles are catching up yo me!  I have read everything - thanks, and you guys are the best! Elsa is so thrilled that everyone likes the cookies and the cronuts. She's considering offering their making to Paw Prints Pizza. Hmmmmm.... You up for that Lola and Bug? THX all too on the photos from yesterday. Meadowdale is my go to place when I can't get out elsewhere. it a nice option. It's been great to read that almost all of our cats will go out of their way to find the hot spots. You gotta love it!
Helen: interesting on the desert animal aspect.
Maui - thnaks for the wagon use! it helped. I promise tor return it tomorrow! ~~ Elsa
OLLIE! You are the best - you always come to helps. We had FUNS - psssttttt - no spilling to the beans, 'k? ~~ Elsa
