Poor little Cleo-Bear. Last night was a rough one with neighbors setting off fire works. It's going to be a long couple of days. Why every night?!?!?!
I've set up a few more feliway diffusers and bought the feliway spray. I have Gaba on hand. You think that might help? Any other suggestions to help de-stress from fireworks? I'm concerned that the stress is going to cause a FLUTD flareup in addition to the high BGs.

I hate it Ang, especially for my guys in the shelter, they're half outside, and it sucks, last night was like a warzone, it only makes my anxiety for Tuesday worse!

For my inside guys I try to run anything they're used to that makes ambient noise.. Fans, air conditioning, a radio upstairs, the TV in downstairs. And if she gets frantic, don't be afraid to use the gaba it helps.
 
Thank you @Deb and Sylvester and @Bandit's Mom :bighug: As she's getting older, her reaction to fireworks is amplified.
Its going to be a LOOONNNNNGGGG weekend through Tuesday 7/4. Last night she hid in the basement until about 2 in the morning when she finally came to bed. I found it difficult to sleep without the extra 12lbs on my legs LOL
I have Gaba on hand for Vet visits prescribed at 2 pills of 50mg 2 hours before the visit. I've used 25mg when she's had a FLUTD flareup which helped and didn't zone her out.
I'm thinking maybe I'll give the 50mg Gaba with her dinner (6pm) or maybe her +1 (7pm) snack and spraying my house with feliway.

Keeping the question mark on the thread title in case anyone has any other helpful tips/tricks.
 
It’s the same thing here! I hate it. Scares both Max and our dog Tank. Poor Tank is an outdoor dog too. I think the gaba and Feliway would help. Does she have a thunder shirt? We got Max one when we went on vacation and it seemed to help too.

Thunder shirt is a great idea. Except I can't even get a collar on her let alone a shirt lol. I'm going to dope her up.
 
The only other thing I can suggest for anxiety is Bach Rescue Remedy for Pets. It was one of the things I used for Neko on the trip to the vet, including the big three day trip to Colorado State University. The second time, which included an airplane trip, I used the Kitty Holster. You wrap it around and use the velcro, very quickly!

Not looking forward to fireworks tonight (Canada Day). Don't those fools know everything is dry here now. :mad:
 
Hi Ang , poor Cleo, Tyler gets scared too. Same thing here in Jersey these assho**s started with them on June 30th. What comes out of my mouth I can't post here lol
I hope you can find other things that members suggested to try.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Went out to eat last night with my sister her husband and son
Dinner was really good, there is a great Italian restaurant in town.
I had scungilli in sweet sauce over linguine it was so good and we had fried calamari in medium sauce
Cheryl has chicken piccata her son had chicken francese, and her husband had chicken parmesan. Nice hot Italian bread. I was stuffed. I think that's the most I ate since Ashley passed
My sister found a coin in the store and on both sides were a pic of an angel
I saw a beautiful cardinal this morning when I was sitting outside. Cheryl dreamt of Ashley, I haven't yet
Tyler keeps looking for her , makes me so friggin sad
