We had good three weeks with Gus eating well and good BG. The only problem was occasional constipation that I was able control with SEB or Miralax. He had BM yesterday AM and overnight normal BM and three piles of pee in LB. This morning we started with green BG 91 and good appetite for breakfast (no changes in food).
Shortly after I found throw-up That consisted of food and another pile just water. I started to observe him and noticed that he is walking around, squints and pees very small amounts. He was resting in his bed and peed in it also walked next to LB and pee. At 7:00 he was asking for food and eat well. Shortly after started to pee small drops again. I collected enough urine to do urinalysis: it appeared that leukocytes and protein were elevated. We went to the vet. Possible UTI and since I had Orbax at home vet recommended the we use it and if there is no improvement we will need to do more testing. He also had ear infection and we got drops for that but it wasn't the cause of his urination outside LB. Gus got fluids at the vet and we got it to give him three times per week.

We returned home at 10:00 Gus was eating and drinking and used LB. He appears content with PMPS 94 so we injected 0.1. I am waiting for him to go to LB so I can repeat urinalysis but I am not sure how well I can interpret the results.

Since Gus is doing fine now I was going to wait with starting him on the Orbax?

Hi Elizabeth - for reference, here is your last condo here. Healing vines for Gus.:bighug:

Small piles of pee can also be signs of cystitis (which my civie gets) which is an inflammation, not infection. If you want to make sure you are using the correct antibiotic for the type of infection and that he has an infection, you have to do a urine culture and sensitivity. Urine for that should be obtained via cystocentesis, not via free catch. I would wait on the Orbax, until after urine has been collected via cysto for the urine C&S. Here is a post by Dr. Lisa on UTI's.

@Wendy&Neko Thank you so much for the information. I value your opinion and guidance.

This is why I am very confused:
2/22 first time urinating very little outside LB it was the time that we just started insulin Novolin (no home testing) and assumed that his BG was low - administered karo syrup and went to ER (BG was 140) no other treatment. After returning home no more problem with pee outside LB. We changed the vet and insulin and started home testing
3/14 again small pee outside LB etc. - vet complete blood/urine analysis, urine culture and x-rays. Prescribed Orbax for possible UTI. Returned home no more problems with pee outside LB.
Stopped Orbax because urine culture neg. but pH 8 and USG 1.015 BUN slightly elevated.
3/25 again small drops of pee etc. and throw up not eating - vet blood/urine analysis, Pancreas testing (PLI). Fluids, Cerenia injection, Famotidine and Mirtazapine. Returned home no more pee problems with pee outside LB. LAB pH 7 , USG 1.020, fPLI 6.7 so pancreatitis diagnosis.
Today urinating outside LB (just drops for 2.5 hour) returned home and Gus is fine.

Every time it happened in the morning and on other two occasions he wasn't eating and 3/25 he was clearly in pain. Could you please let me know if cystitis would present symptoms that I am describing. We are trying to avoid enormous vet cost. On 3/14 he had the symptoms and culture was negative so bacterial infection was ruled out how about inflammation?? Lab results are attached in SS.

Cystitis may burn. Also, has the vet taken an x-ray? Stones in the kidneys or bladder may cause significant irritation, and may cause obstruction, too.

I was just going to ask about crystals as well but that would show up in a urinalysis. It would make sense with a ph of 8. That is too high. Labs show no crystals. That is good.
